I have been working at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The pay is average for manufacturing as it used to be above average, but average is better than below average. Benefits are average, holiday pay is good along with the several paid holidays.

    Cons

Old style leadership that is results driven only meaning the employees are pretty much just a seniority number. The employee moral is negative because of lack of communication and they get frustrated with surprises. No work life balance is the common factor with hourly and supervisor employees. Supervisors forced to work days off with no compensation and leads to negative attitudes...

    Advice to Management

Every work place has opportunities, but collaboration with hourly and supervisor level employees on finding solutions for the common issues instead of doing things the lazy way and just writing employees up and making them feel alone and demotivated. Invest in you management team on how to empower people or maybe place them in roles with no direct reports, but replace them with individuals with leadership and management...

I have been working at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Wages are decent for the area.

    Cons

Miserable plant leadership, no work/life balance, favoritism, paranoid and self serving managers, bullying and intimidation, lack of respect for employees,

    Advice to Management

The plant has become a toxic mix of self serving leaders who would step on their own mothers to advance. Office politics are the daily norm. Screaming at and blaming operators for everything in order to deflect from their unprofessional leadership. Jobs are "created" by managers so they can surround themselves with yes men.

We highly recommend you take part in (and encourage other Fort Morgan employees) the upcoming employee engagement survey! If there are issues such as you describe we definitely want to stomp them out. Bullying, intimidation, favoritism, and disrespect is not tolerated within Leprino.

I have been working at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Profit sharing, if you can stay here that long

    Cons

No internal advancement, no work/life balance, they don't care if you lose vacation days and work nights and weekends, come in sick or hurt, they'll just replace you with a cheaper outside person.

I worked at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good Pay with decent 401k plan.

    Cons

Many hours of work with no work/life balance. Expected you to work 16 hour shift by notifying you an hour before you go home, even if you just worked a twelve hour shift. Company didn't care if you were there six months of fifteen years, they would tell you were the door is if you couldn't work the long shifts they needed. Most of the long shifts were due to continued quality problems they came up every time we were audited...

I have been working at Leprino Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    1) Industry leader 2) Willing to invest for growth 3) Very concerned about meeting customer needs and expectations 4) Quality is important

    Cons

    1) SAP conversion was a disaster that is causing pain throughout the company 2) Senior management works 24/7 and expects that from other team members 3) Time is constantly wasted due to accounting focus of senior management 4) Career opportunities designed around P&G hires from a few years back. Don't expect to come in and lead as the P&G team has been slated for most leadership roles. 5) 75% of employees have...

    Advice to Management

President needs to retire as he makes way too much money to be micro managing the way that he does. Give opportunities to people other than the P&G hires. Work/life balance is important; your employees will work harder if things are taken care of at home. Bring benefits into the 21st century; the Leprino family is making enough money and can afford it.

    I worked at Leprino Foods

    Pros

Benefits are decent. You work for an unknown large company that dominates it's market share.

    Cons

Had to leave as stress of no work/life balance was literally killing me. My BP soared while there while owners became even bigger billionaires.

    Advice to Management

How about a 40 hour work week. People only live once and would like to have some balance. Getting rich off the back breaking work of others is greedy.

I have been working at Leprino Foods

    Pros

Profit sharing is nice after 2 years. 401k is also nice. Health benefits are good but expensive.

    Cons

Overworked. No work-life balance. You are expected to attend meetings on your days off. God forbid you get a schedule that balances work and life. You're expected to work 60-70 hrs between days off. There is no movement unless you're part of the good ole boys club. The pay would be decent if you only worked 40 hrs but you don't so you might as well work at McDonalds. You'll make the same amount. Only now are raises...

    Advice to Management

We do well as a company but at the plant level, corporate needs to get with it. You will never keep your lower management or get people to move up once they see how the treatment is. Especially with more degrees coming into the work force, they are beginning to see that there are better companies and opportunities out there.
