Learn how to run a business effectively if you put forth the effort. The new E- Learning system is phenomenal, especially the shop courses and general chemical classes. Leslie's has access to almost anything, their catalog is insane. They have the resources to help you be successful, a little common sense and to go along with training will get you far.

Cons

Low pay considering you are the face of your store. Long hours, even when you're off you're working. No appreciation by upper management. Loyalty is not returned. Favoritism runs rampant. No opportunity for growth. Unless you move away or take over a dead store... they don't pay for it either. Bottom line the job itself is actually fine, it feels good to see the fruits of your labor and also gain the trust of your customers. Just wish the people you were loyal too could see it, but alas your just a number.

Relatively easy schedule except for during season.

Cons

Low pay, long hours in the summer, prices too high so customers are leaving. Outdated sales tactics. Pos systems are poor. Inventory controls are broken. Expectations for stocking heavy items (100lbs+) are ridiculous. Company is too cheap to invest in people or systems.
