I have been working at Levi Strauss part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good people and the quality of products helps drive sales.

    Cons

The company lacks basic knowledge in the retail space and making the lives of both the customers and the workers easier.

    Advice to Management

Use employee feedback to improve the company. There are a lot of things that can be made easier.

I worked at Levi Strauss full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is a great culture, along with a rich history. The dress code is also a plus,

    Cons

Management is not responsible for any negatives. Everything is at the faults of associates and supervisors. Much too much in terms of politics.

    Advice to Management

You need strong leaders in your buildings! Associates are only as stong as their supervisors, who are only as strong as their managers, who are only as strong as their general manager. It might help to get a competent district manager, as well.

I have been working at Levi Strauss full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Working with people and learning something new about customer service.

    Cons

Pay and promotion. Hours are based on sales and most retail places are but my manager sucked so it made it worse.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees and be supportive not condescending.

I worked at Levi Strauss full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The best thing was the great merchandise and employee discounts!

    Cons

Lack of benefits for our part-time employees. Example: Part-time employees are not eligible for bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Due diligence will really cut back on internal theft.

I worked at Levi Strauss part-time for more than a year

    Pros

iconic products, fantastic diversity/culture, decent benefits, brand image isn't as superficial as many of their closest competitors

    Cons

products can be purchased for cheaper prices at big box stores, unstable hours, asking for vacation time is like asking to be fired, poor communication within management team due to overworking

    Advice to Management

district management needs to pay closer attention to in-store management dynamics and not focust solely on performance numbers. the relationship is interconnected.

I have been working at Levi Strauss full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Awesome co workers. Getting to sell a product that I believe in. I love Levi jeans.

    Cons

Upper management is very pushy and they are all about "passing the buck" A lot of people in management talk down to you as if you are uneducated or are incompetent. Not very flexible with school schedules. Do not empathize with issues that occur outside Levi's Over worked, with very little pay.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Recognize accomplishments. Stay positive with team members, don't micro manage. Give credit when credit is due. Also they should care more about their employees and treat them well.

I have been working at Levi Strauss

    Pros

Company is stable, and you will likely not have to worry about being laid off. Also you receive a discount on merchandise!

    Cons

Company uses "part-time" management almost full-time. This means you are expected to do as much work as the 1 or 2 full-time management members without receiving ANY benefits. Also, raises are VERY paltry (1-3%) and given only once a year.

    Advice to Management

Recognize talent and good work of current employees by giving them better raises and benefits. Retail employees are the face of the company and will be better ambassadors when they feel properly rewarded for their efforts.

I have been working at Levi Strauss

    Pros

High spirts in both customers and employees. Repeat clients who remember the associates who helped them last time. The formulas for customer service are pretty much the same effective ways that most companies use just simplified.

    Cons

There is alot of management miscommunication whithin the company, not just in store but also through out the districts and corperation itself.

    Advice to Management

Make an easy way to relay the SMCs to the people who work for levi's. The past three years every year each store manager would come back with only half of what was supposed to be brought back to us.
