    Pros

    Great salary, time and a half on Sunday and bank holidays

    Cons

    Late nights may not leave to 11.30pm until shop is up to a standard set by management

    Great hourly rate, great colleagues and always busy.

    Cons

    Poor line management. No work life balance, no support for working parents.

    Advice to Management

    Stop treating staff members differently and threatening people’s jobs.

    Pros

    Hourly rate but nothing else.

    Cons

    Roster changed all the time, lack of hours, sent home early, often working 6+ hours with no break, poor management

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employee's. Learn to do rosters.

    Long hours at till, zero variety especially for new staff Called last minute on days off to come into work and being made feel bad if you don't A lot of favouritism to certain employees who get all the morning shifts, not evenly divided out Clinical depressing environment, no mental stimulation, background music would be an extreme addition to Lidl stores and make it feel more like a shop and less like a factory. ...

    Wages not minimal, is that a pro for such demanding and fast paced job?

    Cons

    Weak strategy of introducing new employees into operations, on paper it all looks good, but you don't get proper training in all the activities you are asked to know how to do. Long term employees abuse newcomers by assigning them jobs that are hardest and don't allow rest, while they are hiding on shop floor or warehouse and work really really slow, talk on phone and wait for end of the day.     Advice to Management

    How do you expect for people to know things if they are not being trained? Do you check what duties are assigned to newly employed? You can't be fast doing loose stock if you are only being put to do dirtiest and hardest jobs in store, never close down or decarding. Employees ask questions like "You are too slow, how long are you at Lidl???" while at same time assigning hardest job to you and loosing their time on jobs...

    Hourly pay high, always paid on time and in full, staff fun to work with, laid back environment

    Cons

    Long long hours, Irregular shift pattern (5am - 3pm one day, 2pm - 10pm the next day).

    Let staff have more so over shift patterns and understand we don't all want to work overtime every day!

    - Colleagues were extremely friendly and welcoming - Pay is good for part time, easy work

    - Customers were rude and entitled - No core hours meant it was often difficult to fit work around uni

    - Set core hours for employees to work as opposed to setting different shifts every week

    The pay at Lidl is great, with a pay rise every year.

    Cons

    Shifts sometimes seem to be unfairly distributed. I.e. always getting weekend close shifts.

    Listen to employees when they have a problem and try to help.
