I have been working at Lincoln Investment Planning full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Personal management team with whom you’ll have direct contact with. The coziness of the firm allows all advisors to be given the assistance needed by knowledgeable back office individuals. Management listens to feedback and implements appropriate suggestions.

    Cons

Some systems are archaic; I.e. not accepting credit card/direct debit for financial plans.

I worked at Lincoln Investment Planning full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very nice people, ok management .

    Cons

The major con to working here is that you go into financial planning to truly help people - right? At smaller firms and brokers like Lincoln, you’re just pushing their platforms. If you realize from your training the impact of the costs of investing, you’ll understand it’s not where you can honestly be long term. I decided to leave. I’d recommend moving to one of the big three, which is what I did for better benefits and long term peace of mind working with clients. Consider Schwab, Fidelity, or Vanguard. Help your clients make money for themselves with lower costs, while building your career with honesty and integrity.

I have been working at Lincoln Investment Planning full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The open architecture of an independent broker-dealer allows you to implement financial plans and strategies for your clients. If you've been trained elsewhere, it's a good place to move your practice.

    Cons

It's a difficult place to start if you're new to the industry and profession. Like many places, it's an eat what you kill sales job.
