    I worked at Macdonald & Company full-time

    Pros

    Software/system is up to date.

    Cons

Very outdated recruitment style - they want you on the phone all day bombarding clients for jobs. Expected to build a desk from nothing - I had to build my client list from scratch, no support or help from my team. I was later informed that a colleague in the same team was given 2 clients straight away. Commission scheme is a joke, you are there to make the company money and get the left overs. Everyone will smile to your face and chat so much rubbish behind your back, its toxic. The woman are clicky and men are sexist - looking you up and down as though you are meet on the bone. Favoritism - its like the saying goes "its not what you know, its who" well at M&C its very much who's a** are you willing to lick to get support. No diversity within the company. Leadership are old white men. Culture is shocking. Your are only spoken to by management when you are doing well and making them money. No support when you are not billing.

    Pros

    Software is up to date

    Cons

People are working against each other. Full of selfish people, just interested in making money - doesnt matter for which price. No teamwork, bad company culture, they get rid of people at the first place when circumstances show up. A lot of people in leader positions which doesnt have the necessarly leadership skills

I worked at Macdonald & Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pre-Redundancy, M&C was a great company to work for. They do their part to look after their guys. What I was personally a miffed by was post-redundancy.

    Cons

Post-Redundancy, it was/is a very different experience… Now, being made redundant isn’t the nicest experience in the World anyway. Yes, we are all going through a difficult time and I wasn’t the only person to be made redundant (I just happened to be in the “small minority” group) but maybe the whole process didn’t have to be so… … empty? We were asked if we wanted anyone else to be present in the redundancy meeting (with HR). I requested my Manager to take-part. This didn’t happen… I tried calling (at the beginning of the meeting) but didn’t get a response. In fact, it wasn’t just the redundancy meeting, there was absolute radio silence from him & well as the rest of the senior management team too. Yes: there isn’t a lot to say when a company has to make the difficult decision to make redundancies. However, when you have been there close to two years and got praised every step of the way for doing a good job, you would think someone from leadership would at least say “sorry to see you go”. Considering my Manager was/is on the Leadership too, it was just disappointing that nothing happened. So, it all starts well and continues well with M&C. It seems, it doesn’t always end well. I deliberately delayed writing a review by a couple of weeks, I didn’t want to be subjective with emotions still running high. However now, a couple of weeks on and 100% objectively, I can honestly say that the departure was handled appallingly.

    Pros

There are so many cons to working for MacDonald & Company. It is an excellent location. The work environment is both professional and friendly. The people are great to work with and there is a strong family feeling in the office.

    Cons

    I can't name a single con.
