      You get to do world-class research with some brilliant people.

      Cons

      There's little oversight on how PIs at MGH treat their employees. Some of the people who lead labs here foster a toxic working relationship. During my year working for a lab at MGH, my coworkers and I were yelled at countless times. Moreover, there is significant unpaid work for lab jobs. I worked multiple 80-hour weeks, for which I was paid only for my usual 20 hours. Also, the pay is awful across Mass General Brigham hospitals for those of us who just graduated from college.

      Low compensation, although that is typical of the Boston medical area since they can get away with paying less given the prestige and opportunities
