    Vadodara Tech Hub is Safe place to get visibility among executives if you are politically good and joining directly at senior positions
    Good Compensation and Benefits
    Lots of learning and support from senior technical members.
    Vadodara is peaceful and Good Place to Stay

    Cons

    Vadodara center has real internal politics among Business Leaders, Senior Business Leaders and especially with Local HR.
    Local HR lacking experience on handling software and engineering resources at global level. Vadodara Local HR Policies not in sync with global HR. Customized to highlight Vadodar Tech Hub but nothing is in benefit of employees.
    Leaders undergo with delivery pressure and and suppressed by higher management decisions
    Engineers wanted growth but opportunities are limited only under available two Senior Business Leader authority.
    Mastercard is product based company but Vadodara Tech Hub is delivery organization. Even product development is done under delivery pressure and quality gets suffer.
    Leaders or higher management have no time to think for people's growth.
    Any negative feedback for senior management considered as immaturity of individual instead of positively receiving feedback for improvisation.
    No long term career growth visibility while seeing existing management team chain being not challenged or no near term plan for versatile business units in Vadodara.

    Advice to Management

    Local Management and HR do the waste effort to keep executives happy and tries to differentiate Vadodara from other Tech Hubs. These are just spoken words but ground reality is different.
    Because of internal politics and limited growth, people moving out from Vadodara center. Request to executive management to introduce multiple verticals of different business unit for positive internal competition and career growth.
    Also introduce Local HR SBL for positive growth of the Vadodara Tech Hub
    Request for (very) Anonymous Survey for Local HR & Local Management Team.
    Any new MNC organization in Vadodara can pull entire talent pool from Vadodra.
    Look and compare the recent higher side exit ratio or location transfer request from Vadodara.
    Create some more opportunities in Vadodara, every third capable member wanted to do some challenging or different work.

    Pros

    Vadodara Tech Hub has talented pool of resources
    Very good opportunities for smart people
    Mastercard has very good vision and strategy
    Agility and ownership within the team
    Good experienced employees from whom you can learn many things
    Very good career for engineers

    Cons

    Very Much Internal Political Environment within HR and Senior Management
    Immature HR working hard for creating negative environment and working for self credibility
    Local senior management trying to create report by saving project budget but end up having re-org and clock starts again for them. They have knowledge and experience but somehow driven by politics.

    Advice to Management

    Continue more real anonymous survey for local HR and Senior management and see the results.
    Truly Vadodara Tech Hub can excel if internal HR & Senior Management Politics can be controlled.

    Pros

    Policies are really good.. very employee friendly policy but all in vain if you have useless management

    Cons

    Too much power concentrated in wrong hands.. if you are unlucky enough to be under a bad manager or management kiss goodbye to your personal life. It is as if they own you as they are paying you salary. Work overload, no work from home even if it is late, micro management, biased towards certain employees.

    Advice to Management

    If you want to retain employees, listen to why they are leaving.. work on the feedback provided. Or else this will be an excellent company failing in India due to ignorance by management.

    I worked at Mastercard full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The only reason someone would join would be brand MasterCard. an Initial salary and policies may look good but that is everywhere provided for good skills.

    Cons

    There are unlimited. There is a clear bias and discrimination from the management at the onsite while providing any benefits. They discriminate while providing any policy benefits to the onsite and employees located in Pune. Even the Pune local management has made it worse by following the path of their onsite manager. There is no transparency . They are more interested into creating conflicts, monitoring people for every minute they spend or even for the breaks taken. There is no work life balance, no work or calls from home allowed even when it is late . They are least concerned about full time employees as they think with money they can always choose the contract employees. The power is in the hands of managers and if they want they can do anything even if it is not in line with MasterCard values. And somebody who speaks against them, they make the life miserable. There is also no clear path with respect to career progression as even though good technical talent joins MasterCard, the management without skills not just technical but also people management make the MasterCard brand and image look poor.

    Advice to Management

    You need to keep your eyes open and look at things going wrong . If people are leaving or there is discrimination, it needs to be noticed and action should be taken. Sooner or later, no talent would stay for longer.
