    I have been working at Meditab Software full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Will get to learn a lot. (Things move fast here, so you can feel overwhelmed sometimes) Exposure of working with a diverse group of co-workers. Ideas are welcomed and you are acknowledged for your efforts. Open door policy, can directly talk to the CEO & upper management if any issue that pertains. Team Leads are helpful and take time to guide you through problems.

    Its primarily a product based software development company. You get a good exposure of all activities involved in running a software product within the Ahmedabad office. Various technology options available within the floor opens up opportunities for career growth.

    Amazing learning and experimenting freedom. Easy access to resources and tools like Servers, Desktops/Laptops,Software. Good office ambience. Satisfactory appraisal.

    Cons

    Lack of experienced resources and leaders. Little bit over micro-management. Lots of unnecessary meetings for non-productive items like leaves and typing speed.

    You need to adopt standard IT practices for planning & execution for projects. Things should not be done on a whim. Good & reliable software takes time, and ultimately delivers better results.

    Pros

    I have been working at Meditab Software full-time (More than 2 years) and needless to say, it is one of the great organization for us to grow in both personally as well as professionally. The learning opportunity is huge for fresher as well as experienced individuals. Our company encourages learning inside the office. The management is very supportive and treats us like their family.

    Sometimes we need to stretch ourselves to achieve the deadline. Of course, its part and parcel of the work.

    Unhappy employees are everywhere. Allow them to go without even thinking about the notice period.

    Pros

    Been working with the company for quite some time now. Here's my observation 1. Aptitude scores matters than your actual job skills- Even an experienced employee is required to not only appear but clear the aptitude test. Which I feel is futile. The only way for you to get an entry if you are experienced (without clearing the test) is to have good contacts. You should be willing to lick shoes of the management.... 2. Long work hours- The mandate working hours is 8 hours, but that is just a myth. During your appraisal your work hours are taken into consideration rather than actual job done. Team leads are called in if they are seen leaving the workplace at 6 even though you completed your work. Team leads are instructed to force their team members to work minimum 10 to 12 hours. 3. Freshers are promoted as leads within 6 months, wherein the team members holds more experience than the lead. 4. Employees are asked to post a "positive" review on Glassdoor to upgrade their ratings. Instead please address the actual issues and let the employees speak for themselves.

    Good infrastructure. Good IT Equipments. As all say- free lunch free ice cream

    Cons

    Its a project of a person who owns this company so he can run it the way he wants. But he need to ensure Good professionals stays whether he likes them or not. To give an example, there was a professional who left at the around same time i left meditab, who was very positive but outspoken , very honest and fundamentally perfect to be an over all manager , an all rounder ,was asked to leave without any... professional reasons. It was all around politics- his immature team members, Gossipers, spys... ensured that he leaves....and with him the upgradation of Resources stopped. If you listen to all employees you will not be able to address it, but if you will listen to a manager , you will understand the key issues and ignore all others wasting your time.

    Just check following mail drafted by manager to Employees. You will get all cons. Do Minimum 8 productive hours per day, proper tracking and daily logs of the work that you do Work to be delivered as per your experience level and not as per your capacity, if you are not able to deliver as per your experience you are required to put in the extra efforts as compensation but complete the work in time, Here... the work to be done as per your exp would be decided by the lead Professional code of conduct Asking for work and having enough work in your plate is your responsibility Pick up alternative work in cases of extreme emergency when lead is not present, must inform lead before picking the same item Technical knowledge as per your experience level Independent executioner for your work, help from the lead only to be taken in cases of extreme emergencies Struggle and learn for your technical problems, spend extra efforts if it requires instead of asking for help from the seniors or extending the deadline Responsibility and ownership of the task you are working on is entirely upon you including the roadblocks, Letting work delivery suffer because of any x reason would result in OFIs, cancellation of appraisal for the year, termination from employment, assignment of non crucial work Knowing your technical stack, architecture, solution and other necessary skills required for completing the work must be present or acquired in short time Training for any new implementation or existing stack will not be given, it’s a part of your responsibility to learn and be capable of the same Delivering work of low quality that has basic mistakes which must be known to a professional of your category and experience would result in degradation of the position and salary, coming up with basic points that must be met with each deliverable is a part of your own responsibilities Quality cross checks and inputs that are expected out of you must be present in the deliverable, if found missing or not being adequate, crucial work that requires high enthusiasm and quality would not be assigned to you Being clear with the career path - fixed approach vs open approach, the choice must be made and you must stick to it, not able to perform in any one of the categories is not fruitful for the organization Deadlines - Deadlines are of paramount importance along with the quality. Quality here does include all stages - analysis, design, coding, testing. To achieve quality at each level, it would derail the next stage, adapting to this is expected and is part of the process. Sequential approach of having everything run in a linear fashion, from analysis to design to coding to testing is not going to happen, all the members are required to work on a common goal of achieving the deadline including the hiccups in the way. Don'ts Communication issues with the team that you are working on for a screen/module or any screen would not be accepted, as professionals you are expected to make sure you listen right and you are heard right, as a team you must be on the same page at all times Not taking set guidelines or rules sincerely Spreading negativity and rumours to other members Insubordination with team and leads decisions, Must follow disagree and commit, case of insubordination would be treated with severe penalties Frequent use of chats/hangouts or getting involved in non productive or distracting activities while doing work is not at all allowed, if you want to have a free time, please stop the timer, get out of the bay, go to pantry or outside and have the break, when on desk, you must be doing productive work, frequent distractions causes quality issues with the work which cannot be accepted at all non professional behavior would be punished with either OFIs or other penalties, maintain your temperament Involvement in internal politics would straight away lead to termination, this involves insubordination, spreading rumors to other members instead of asking for a meeting and clarification, providing your views about something without caring for the overall impact on the team, grudgeful behavior with a team member, attitude of taking things sideways Not getting the doubts cleared at the right time and having them delayed resulting into another meetings, confusions, misunderstandings, chaos or any other rift is not acceptable, you must have them solved at the right time, then and there only Taking leaves without prior approval (one month for planned leaves) will be dealt with disciplinary actions. Unplanned leaves must be kept to a minimum and approval is required for all cases except emergency health reasons. Evaluations and Decisions These are not mere guidelines or suggestions but policy that must be followed up to the word by the members of the team Evaluations of this policy would start immediately All the points listed above are not open to any discussion or change and must be agreed by the member of the team, if you are not in agreement with any of the point, let the manager know for the same so proper action can be taken from the first day, no communication would be considered as an agreement with all the policies At Every quarter, Each member would be evaluated for all the points, if a member is not found to be compatible on the points, decision of either team transfer or termination would be conveyed to the member Poor performance on any of the parameters would not be tolerated as we want to maintain the team at high levels of performance and efficiency at all times One more mail : Analysis and all other missing points are expected from everyone in the team, be it Dev or QA. Team is working on a new product and would be working on them in future too and dynamic approach is required from each member of the team to get it done Team is not going to change the way it operates for a member's preference Analysis would be communicated by documents and verbally both, members are required to operate at the level where it works without issues Scope of the product and work is huge in terms of quantity and it would stay that way, member is required to cope up with this uncertainty and put in the required efforts continuously (fact: there are 7000 pending ERs in IMS after 20 years of development) All the members working hard and providing full efforts would be the expected and normal way of working and not on exception bases, if the member can't do the same, he/she is not fit for the team Deadlines would be aggressive, Quality points, new points would not be dropped just to meet deadline, Team would be working to achieve both Consideration would be for each team member and only for such member who is giving all that he/she can to the product and team and taking full ownership Full ownership of the task is to be taken by the member, regardless of the hours it takes to get it done, lack of ownership would be a deal breaker Trust in the leadership is required, if you have issues with it, sort it out instead of spreading them to other team members and other teams, if not able to sort out, take them to upper management/HR Performance of each member would be evaluated against the document and this benchmarks and not against a member's preferred benchmarks or industry norms
