I have been working at Method Studios full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fantastic people: this company mostly has a great, collaborative culture with a very low tolerance for the toxic individuals who mess up certain other VFX houses. Produces great work. Commitment to ongoing improvement at the management level.

    Cons

The pipeline is a work in progress, to say the least. Needs to choose one renderer. Too long with Marvel as the main client is hard on the crew, because the way Marvel treats its vendors makes for intense crunch periods. Too many different heads of studio in Vancouver over the last few years.

I worked at Method Studios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are some talented and professional artists working there.

    Cons

I produced the worst product of my career with the worst lead I've ever had. Working on VR and having CG supervisors absolutely clueless as to how to produce interactive content may not be so bad if they actually listened to the people they hired who do. But no, they are know it all's, in fear of losing their status as the studio alphas. Working in the game industry I found my leads and teammates to be supportive and collaborative, this environment was the opposite, competitive and ready to throw you under a bus if they will personally benefit from it. (no matter what it does to the project) Not surprising its run by ex Digital Domain people, they successfully ran that studio into the ground too.

I worked at Method Studios full-time

    Pros

Working with 'hands down' some of the best CG talent in the industry. Very well laid out pipeline, with heavy emphasis on overall structure. Well oiled machine.

    Cons

Bit of a corporate vibe, can be overwhelmingly at certain points.

I worked at Method Studios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

it was a good place to work.

    Cons

depends on the department, u may have a manager who ganna mess up the department. do not take so serious of what the manager "promise” u, cuz they could change their mind in the last mins and tell u "I am sorry but things changed now" u can not bump up ur wage contract to contract cuz u need to have an annual review. even u had it, u may still stay where u r or how much u get cuz" I m sorry but things changed"

I worked at Method Studios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Competitive rate. Some great people.

    Cons

Lack of vision. Overbooked. Bad politics and horrible pipeline. Treat artists worse than anywhere I have been. Lost some key people. And clients. Turnover is insane across departments and management. Lack of company culture, and accountability. People got away with murder.
