I worked at Method Studios full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Talented artists -Friendly staff -Free food from the kitchen -Catered lunch on weekends -Ergonomic workstations -Free beer on Fridays

    Cons

-Short contracts -Low wages and inconsistent salary between staff with equal experience/skill -Poor planning -No shot breakdowns for showreels -Too corporate - focused more on rewarding management and production than artists -No opportunities for professional growth -No wrap parties The combination of low wages and short contracts means staff are unable to plan ahead, and even staff who have worked there for years are unsure if they'll have a job in a few months time. Many work overtime and have no time for professional growth or personal projects, so when the inevitable layoffs come they're also stuck with nothing for their reels.

I have been working at Method Studios

    Pros

Great environment to work at, many talented artists. Although pipeline facility wise needs quite a bit of work, there's always a team effort to work things around on a show basis.

    Cons

Lots of unnecessary stress dealing with contract extensions. Artist managers don't understand artist roles and performance within the company, just deciding whoever they want to keep or not, based on something else other than performance and internal feedback from leads and supervisors. Usually extensions come in last minute and sometimes it seems like gender and race can influence in that decision. Something really surprising to find in a company based in Canada.

I have been working at Method Studios full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - There are a lot of talented artists with a desire to perform at their best and create top level work. - Interesting projects are becoming more and more available - Sometimes there are company events for employees

    Cons

Upper Management isn't in touch with what's happening in their departments. Level of morale is low with long work hours and no work/life balance. Pay is low at upper level positions. There is a large push to become salaried after a certain dollar amount/hour, which works in the companies favor. Doing so

I worked at Method Studios for more than a year

    Pros

Full of talented artists, fun projects. Lots of great work coming in and being done all the time. High profile projects.

    Cons

They will lay contractors off on a moments notice, cut bookings short. If you know this going in, you can be prepared.
