I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of freedom, encouragement of self-determination. Minimal red-tape obstacles. Cross-departmental connections/collaborations are encouraged.

    Cons

Too much "freedom." Lack of clarity in terms of goals, strategy, and deliverables, on both a long-term and short-term level. The lack of support was demoralizing, and direction from higher-ups was infrequent and vague.

    Advice to Management

Decide on what you want, and then tell us that. We can figure out how to get there, but we need a destination, even if it's just an example.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay, amazing intern perks such as the signature event, etc, great support from mentors and managers, great location

    Cons

No free food or snacks :( and sometimes you are just placed on a team i.e. you don't get a choice in where you go, which can be disappointing

I have been working at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Incredible work environment that promotes flexibility. The culture is awesome, and people are generally helpful, and want you to be successful. As an intern, I was given responsibility from day one, and was given heaps of autonomy.

    Cons

Often the work environment is ambiguous and unstructured. This has forced me to adapt to change on a regular basis.

One negative point is that the office is in North Ryde.

    Advice to Management

Great place to work as an intern, but greater career mentorship and structure to the program would assist in career development.

I have been working at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great environment and team to work with.
Have good comfort and facilities that you want to work there forever.

    Cons

Even though you are Intern or Fresher, they would expect, you know everything about coding.

    Advice to Management

    Initial training session for Interns.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

As intern you get a lot of free stuff. You get to go to many intern events, network with a lot of very talented people your age.

    Cons

If based outside Redmond you'll probably feel left out as other offices don't get a big slice of cake and thus projects and other developers are not that exciting.
