Good technology, maintenance is routine, lots of activities for students.
Cons
Despite the complaints, criticisms, and legal repercussions, MTSD continues to put administration and politics above all. A large number of secretaries, special education staff, and teachers quit to get out of unfair work conditions. What changes were made? Bonuses to admin for performance. Awards for record keeping. Celebrations of business department saving money. There is a huge disconnect between what needs to be done and what is being done. As a teacher with a union, you have security and protection. But as any other employee, you will hold more responsibilities than the job description lists. You will not have a ladder to grow professionally. You will not be treated as equals. If you value professionalism, and person-centered environments, this school district is not for you.

Management Culture Low Pay ($75/day before taxes) No Benefits No unemployment over the summer months or holiday breaks No PTO Getting jerked around and thrown into classrooms you did not sign up for

Dedicated and helpful colleagues held back by a mostly inept/incompetent administration
Cons
Administration (other than a possible handful) is horrible; cronyism, unqualified individuals promoted based upon cliques, Principals speak with a forked-tongue and *some try -unsuccessfully- to bully or intimidate teachers when she/he does happen to come out of office hibernation
