average sales job with duties including composing deposits, counting the cash drawer, doing some work on excel spreadsheets, doing battery changes on watches, shipments, reticketing inventory and closing and opening the store. There is sort of an ability to move up depending on how many employees are working at a location.

Being able to sell and possibly service watches. Employee discount. Undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable sectors of retail. Occasional bonuses. Great product selection with something for everyone which makes it easy to make sales.

Cons

Low commission rates and there are several different tiers, but the tier resets each year and assistant managers are usually too busy to focus on sales as much as others. Only the general manager is eligible for the bonuses that actually make a difference. Does not honor the stated tuition reimbursement benefit. Very little, if any, room for advancement. No resources for personal or professional growth. Commonly talks about all the greater benefits and career opportunities that corporate employees enjoy but retail employees don't have access to. Does not provide sufficient training and resources for employees to succeed. Must work all holidays and weekends. Proposing great ideas that add great value to the organization are rarely recognized or awarded. Forced employees to get vaccinated.

Easy to talk to your team, schedule came out two weeks in advance which is nice. Easy to contact corporate if necessary.

Hard to find people to cover for you and the commission percentage isn't very high. Weak culture (maybe it's the high turn over rate?)
