I worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory for less than a year

    Pros

Lots of freedom, fun work, plenty of exercise at location (JPL is on a hill). I personally thought this was a great working environment and the work has meaningful real-world applications. I highly recommend it.

    Cons

The facility is a little bit dated, but the work and comradery among interns makes up for it a lot.

I worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory for less than a year

    Pros

    - My time there was overall great - Amazing projects - Amazing team and staff - A lot of flexibility and freedom projects

    Cons

    - Full time employees, while very nice, took advantage of the relaxed work environment so is not as high functioning as it appears on the outside - Very difficult to go full-time. Was told there are too many high caliper interns and so few jobs and that I didn't really have a chance - I imagine there is high intern turnover rate, which makes sense since the lab is over crowded. But a lot of talent is missed out on because of that - Never got to know management

I worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory for less than a year

    Pros

Great, academic work environment, with plenty of opportunities to talk and work with innovators and industry experts. Probably the perfect place to work for anyone who really cares about humanity's future in space! My supervisor was a really valuable mentor, and everyone I worked with was friendly and taught me something about their field. Plus, the 9/80 work schedule is really nice.

    Cons

The various directorates can be difficult to navigate if you're looking for a contact in a certain group but aren't certain of the group's name.

I worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory for less than a year

    Pros

    - Fantastic working environment, and you get to work on the coolest projects - Full-time engineers are a wealth of knowledge and are great resources - Opportunities to learn more about projects outside of your direct work - Engaging, challenging work that is directly important to JPL projects - Mentoring from senior engineers - Breakfast burritos

    Cons

    - Occasional slow pace of approvals/trainings/drawing releases - It's a long walk up/down the hill to the machine shop, if you can't get a golf cart
