      Fantastic culture!

8 Mar 2023 - Senior Manager, Marketing in London, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The culture is very positive and you get a genuine feeling that the company truly cares about its employees - work life balance is actively encouraged. The company is currently going through a period of transition which inevitably leads to change, but they've got the right people on-board to lead this, and it's being managed in a very positive way. The benefits package is also fantastic and designed very much with the employee and their family front of mind.

      Cons

Regardless of what anyone says every company will have it's cons - but at NAVEX when you raise a concern it is either being addressed, or people actively listen with a view to making a positive change.

20 Dec 2014 - Manager in Global Village

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Most employees are dedicated and very bright. They try to make workers happy with things like fresh fruit and occasional massage chairs.

      Cons

The pace is crazy. The higher ups argue over who's responsible for what and there is poor definition over roles and responsibilities. Company is very shortsighted because they are driven by short term profitability, this drives many business decisions that are not beneficial in the longer term

      Good and bad

      15 Mar 2023 - Customer Service Associate
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

I love my team. I work with wonderful people who really care about helping solve our customers problems. I see them constantly going above and beyond for their customers. My direct management is AMAZING, they listen to our concerns and do their best to address them, but are limited to to what the executive team will allow them to address.

      Cons

The executive team is so beyond out of touch with those of us dealing directly with the customer. Monthly town halls are ALL about sales and making more money, but it is hard to motivate yourself to push sales when you dont see the return for your hard work in you paycheck. Customer support teams are pushed to cross sale products when we are struggling to support the customers while we are short staffed. Back fill open positions so that your reps can spend more time with customers and drive the sales you are looking for.

      NAVEX Response

      Chief People Officer

Dear NAVEX Team Member, Thank you for sharing your perspective. I am so glad to hear you love your team - we truly do have amazing people working across NAVEX! I shared your feedback with our Chief Customer Officer, and he agrees that our Support team works very hard. The utilization for this team has averaged 75% the past 3 months, which is right where we would expect. While everyone does support our selling efforts, we are fortunate to not be understaffed at this time. We also have a very high rate of net retention with our customers, which is something we certainly do not take for granted! In terms of our Town Halls, I hope you will take a moment to listen to our last few sessions as we have featured several guest speakers. While we are ultimately accountable to our shareholders to achieve our financial targets and want to be transparent with our team members about our progress, we also work to ensure our Town Halls are informative for people. For example, last month we welcomed a member of our team from the Contact Center to speak about Black History Month and we will continue to have more guests join us in the future. If you have ideas that you would like considered for a future Town Hall, please let me know – I would love to hear from you! Best, Cindy Raz

Navex Cares! Now- let’s care about salary and diversity as well!

      25 Feb 2023 - Product Owner (PO)
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Navex has been a good company to work with for a good stretch of my career. I have had the flexibility for my family life and I have typically had good leadership and coworkers I count among my friends. The amount of folks that stay over the longer period is pretty high- roughly 50% have been with the company for over three years. (Eyeballing it and using Delve) They also promote from within so if you start on one rung of the ladder in one part of the org you can move around and move into different roles. While I don’t think the salaries are the average industry standards for this field, I have been able to get promoted and get experience and my salary has certainly gone significantly up over time. It is a great company to work for, for those starting out in their career who are smart and motivated. You will get experience and move up. It is a good company to work for such as career changers like me who were able to get hired in a new industry and be trusted to grow in tech.

      Cons

It is not perfect but actually does try to do the right things for employees. When it does not do the right things right as we say, it seems to be a lack of understanding (ignorance), or a literal need to make a certain dollar amount for our investors, not malice or harm that is occurring. Navex has decided it is better to keep more money in the bank for hard times and pleasing investors than some other tech companies out there, and because of this- they aren’t laying lots of folks off- only a few in high turnover contact center roles or in sales when folks don’t meet quota for several months. However- salaries aren’t as high and bennies are not good. I actually have my wife’s coverage since hers is better. I also still think we can continue to diversify our teams. We hire lots of different kinds of folks in entry level positions however, outside of our contact centers I don’t see that diversity reflective in our managers and leadership. Let’s walk the walk and talk the talk. Let’s get more women and people of color with a C- in front of their name. Let’s have a board that is made up of folks who are more representative of the broader culture. This is what will strengthen us- a diversity of perspectives.

      Pros

Room for growth, a lot to learn, and decent benefits.

      Cons

Be prepared to be so utterly and completely micro-managed that you'll have almost no time to get anything done. Also, be prepared to do other people's jobs. The micro-managing environment is incredibly high stress and it's unlikely that you'll be trusted to get things done on your own. The products themselves are ok, though with how fast tech is evolving, the suite of solutions is becoming quite antiquated and truly just can't keep up, especially at the ridiculously high price point. KPIs are truly the only thing they care about, and good luck getting any help from other resources like a product specialist, SE, or CSM.

      Pros

There are some good people who work here.

      Cons

Leadership: Constantly patting themselves on the back about exceeding sales goals and how strong company is, while laying off individual contributors. A top-down culture of micromanagement and nitpicking performance to fit whatever narrative about their staff. Middle management is only interested in pleasing leadership and leadership is only interested in pleasing owners. Covid: After three years of covid, there has been no market adjustment for pay, no bonuses, and no compensation bump for inflation. There has just been lots of talk about how strong revenue is, while laying off individual contributors. During covid, leadership mentioned in a few meetings about ski trips, traveling, horse-riding, and golfing trips. How insensitive and disrespectful is it to mention these luxuries while dodging conversations about pay. Company: Leadership has convinced themselves that this is a tech company. It is not. Neither the products nor the compensation reflect that self-deception.
