I worked at NHS Shared Business Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Occasional socials and free ice cream/food at the office, friendly and inclusive to dietary needs, always paid on time, not strict on clothes, flexible working hours, nice bay area to explore at lunch.

    Cons

Management don't value you, you aren't paid enough £17k-19k p/y, work is very boring, monotonous, you get shouted at on the phone by frustrated hospital staff, constantly over worked due to massive backlog, shamed and told of by managers if you talk to your colleagues, you get told off for slouching in your seat, you get told off if you look away from your screen for more than 10 seconds, your line manager will pick you up for being 5 minutes late back from your 30 minute lunch break. Expect to be watched and monitored throughout the day by paranoid control-freak management. Complaints and suggestions to improve the company will be ignored so don't waste your breath. Someone leave every month on average, they almost never hire new people - there is about half the number of people in the office compared to this time last year. I feel like there are more cons but I think it will get too long.
