I have been working at NM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Laid back, casual dress, stress free.

    Cons

Like working in a factory production line with strict start and finish times (well, you choose your time within an hour window and have to stick to it). Most other professional office environments, as long as you work core hours and do your work it's fine. I have to leave home early just in case traffic is bad, but if I get to work early, I can't work my time and clock off early, have to stay until the allotted time. This, and the production line feel to the work makes it feel like a blue collar job rather than a place for professionals. Many people are overqualified for the work. Little opportunity to build on skills, especially if you already have experience before you start here. The skills that you do pick up are for such a small part of the whole process that it doesn't add much value to your career prospects, unless you are a complete novice.

    Cons

Everything else. The office literally stinks of sewarage as you walk in. God knows what clients think. If you are British and strsufht out of uni then you can overlook how bad the company is run.

    NM Group Response

    Marketing Manager

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I was really glad to hear you gained technical skills that will benefit your future career and that you felt the team environment was good at NM Group. As you rightly mentioned we have been acquired by Trimble which has provided many exciting opportunities for NM Group, both for our employees and for business growth. We continually review staff packages with the intention of making them as competitive as possible so I am glad you viewed that as a positive. You mentioned training and being too reactive. This is something we will definitely take on board. Improving the opportunities we offer our staff is a high priority, as is receiving and responding to feedback we get. To that end we now are also implementing a quarterly engagement survey to make sure we are always listening to our employees and to help drive improvements.

Nice working environment. Easy to get the job offer if you have some designing/technical academic or working experience.

    Cons

The work it's a bit monotonous sometimes, but I guess that it can happen in every job sometimes.

I worked at NM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The employees are mainly young professionals who are sociable and welcoming. NM Group has great potential if it manages to find a way to invest in it's employees more and keep them with the company. The office is very international which is a great way to meet people from all over the world. The lower managers and specialists were great to work under and learn from.

    Cons

There is a large turnover of staff, this makes the company feel unstable. The pay is very low for entry level (mainly educated graduates) and the more experienced people are also paid low, which doesn't give incentive to progress. The shift pattern is a mess, work 3 morning shifts (05:30-14:00), 3 late shifts (14:00-22:30), 3 days off. the company has just been taken over by Trimble and it seems like they are using NM Group as a bit of a cash-cow.

I worked at NM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - A great working environment: There is a friendly atmosphere throughout the office. I could not have asked for a better team to work with, thoroughly enjoyed working with my everyone since day one of working at NM Group and there is always support if needed. - International Projects: I had the opportunity to work on projects in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK. - Working in a multidisciplinary team gives you insight and knowledge into all aspects of the processing stage of production.

    Cons

The shift pattern was the only major con for me. Working three early shifts (5:25am - 1:55 pm) followed by three late shifts (2:05pm - 10:35pm) then three days off. As a commuter to work with an hour drive the shift pattern was not ideal and quite antisocial for my personal life outside of work.
