I worked at Navigant full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    there were some nice people

    Cons

The culture was stagnant, oppressive, reactive, racist and sexist. Numerous employees complained to the project director for the sexist and racist remarks made by senior staff members but were effectively silenced by management through threats and bullying. Questions were not tolerated, curiosity was discouraged. The project I was on offered absolutely zero opportunities for professional growth development or... mobility within the company. My experience here was single handedly the most negative work experience in my entire career. There was zero female leadership on this long term project when I started over a year ago, and there remains zero female leadership on it to this day. The project director said about six months ago that they were "trying" to bring a female on board for a leadership role for this project over over 100 employees. To my knowledge that has still not happened. Sexism and favoritism are rampant in this environment. There is absolutely no professionalism exhibited by senior staff members. While there were one or two extremely nice and helpful managers, the rest were the some of the most ignorant, condescending and short-sighted people I have ever encountered. There was a single HR point of contact for this very large project, and he was extremely creepy and entirely useless.

I worked at Navigant full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Great people. Nice office space.

    Cons

Too many hoops to jump through and red tape. Simple tasks that should only take a matter of minutes, can end up lasting days due to formal procedures. No support from management. Admins are the lowest man on the totem pole. Hostility from Sr. level employees is acceptable. There is also no clear path for advancement at the Admin level.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate the Operations group and hire admins at the practice level.

    Pros

    - Colleagues are intelligent - Pay is decent

    Cons

    - You’re given feedback without any tangible solutions or suggestions on how to improve your skills - Lackluster technical training - You constantly get thrown on projects that you have no background in - Work is focused on operations and project management (may not be a con if this is what interests you - just did not interest me) - Culture is negative and people do not feel appreciated by upper management... - Promotions are based on favoritism - There are not great opportunities for career growth

I have been working at Navigant full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Navigant is genuinely striving to improve the human experience or is people. It has regular challenges like all firms but the strategic direction, leadership team and reputation in the market are all solid. They are investing in learning and training and better meeting the needs of employees are being improved. There is a genuine sense of teamwork and collaboration across the firm. You have to make your mark, like... in any consultancy, and need to have agility, persistence, and the smarts to succeed.

    Cons

Company is organized and a OK siloed within the different business segments. This muddles company messaging, and internal programs around culture, values and diversity. Everyone does their own thing... Many great things but it loses the one-firm feel. They're working on this but more to do.

    Advice to Management

Be visible, communicate more often, especially around or stay and people initiatives, and continue to work toward a more unified Navigant.

    Pros

Great company to have exposure to Directors and Managing directors. You'll have exposure to top level management with Medium size consumer finance companies. It is an elite boutique firm for Consumer Finance clients. Since it is a medium size company you will gain responsibility early on and will gain experience in different roles and projects.

    Cons

Do not have a big name outside their niche (Consumer Finance and Insurance), which I think is unfortunate because their team and work is top notch! A big part of their business comes from compliance projects, which could be against you if you want to move to other areas of financial consulting. Bonus based on utilization. When the business activity is low you could still work long hours on proposals and still get a
