      Great Fit With Corporate Culture

      Pros

      - Unique entrepreneurial mindset within a large global organization. - Ability to work closely with executives and learn from them. - Corporate culture promotes good work / life balance. - Netspend is engaged with their customers and develops products that improve their lives financially. - Employees are encouraged to develop their own careers. - Challenging environment that gets you involved in all aspects of the business.

      Cons

The corporate culture is not for everyone. Netspend is not the place for you if you: - Believe you are entitled to promotion and pay increases just for showing up to work. - Rely on e-mail and avoid meeting in person to solve problems. - Do not enjoy learning how to leverage your skills for the benefit of the company. - Would rather have a structured role that never changes.

      Great place to work

Nov 13, 2015 - Data Analyst in Austin, TX

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good work-life balance, strong emphasis on wellness, giving back to the community, and fast-paced progress. Monthly and quarterly social events.

      Cons

Bonus calculation for entire company depends heavily on Revenue and # of active cardholders, so members of non-revenue-driving departments may feel their efforts are insufficiently rewarded during under-performing years.

      Great Big/Small Company!

      Pros

Great place to work, if you work hard it gets noticed. Work-life balance is important and you have it most of the time. Free Drinks, Coffee, Parking Downtown.

      Cons

Salary can be lower than market value and the health benefits could use some improvements. Working remotely is not a popular concept.

      Pros

NetSpend is a great place to work. I've been here for a little over four years in a few different positions. The company is continuing to grow so there is a lot of opportunity to move around and grow with the company. Some of the many perks include: - flexible schedule, work/life balance - wellness program with competitions and on-site classes that promote health/fitness - great people

      Cons

Pay could be better. However, this varies by your position. I came in at a somewhat entry level position and have worked my way up. For employees that move around within the company, the pay increases aren't always great. It’s unfortunate that I feel like I may need to leave the company to get fairly compensated for my current experience and role. This may not be an issue if you come in from the outside at a higher level.

      A good place to learn

      Dec 24, 2013 -

      Pros

Great location downtown, good work-life balance, good recognition program. Good morale and departments get along generally well for the most part.

      Cons

No diversity in upper management, no formal career development for employees, women and minorities seem to struggle for promotions and when turned down or overlooked, they leave for better pay and better opportunities.

      Run away . . . don't walk.

      Pros

Decent pay, benefits, work/life balance, and facilties in downtown Austin.

      Cons

No morale compass as a company, starting with the Board and CEO. Myopic focus on driving fee income to boost IPO valuation, when PR spin to investors and customers is "serving the unbanked and underbanked". Entire senior leadership team will likely depart as soon as contractually permitted to do so following IPO.

      Netspend.....

      Pros

Depends on the manager - work life balance Insurance, paid holidays are good.

      Cons

Employees are treated on the number of years in Netspend not based on their experience in total in our group.... Rules are different among different groups in IT department. No set salary system. When a rec is opened, the expectations & salary don't remain the same until the position is filled. So the salary is changed according to the person they are willing to hire rather than a fixed salary & set expectations for the position.
