I have been working at Nielsen for less than a year

    Pros

Presently I am working from home. They have offered me a good package at training period. Only five days a week work, Very supportive senior managers and professionals. It is only been 8 days after joining when I am writing this. A good company to progress our career. The job is very exciting and interactive.

    Cons

Nothing as of now. Some times you may have to work overtime. But it is not so longer. Only for a couple of hours.

I have been working at Nielsen full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Nielsen brand opens up doors to opportunities (whether internal or external opportunities, for sales pitches or interviews). Nielsen India has a flexible work from home benefit for some (depends on your tenure, team and designation- and even gender), but not for all. Since the market research industry is a relatively small one, you might interact or work with a few charismatic and capable people Gives oppurtunities for ex- employees to come back Delivery teams/research teams have more of sales target based evaluation compared to other MR companies - which is good for any executive/new manager learning the ropes in the corporate world

    Cons

Very highly inefficient internal support team and third parties. They usually cause delays and you pay for the same (if you are in a delivery/client facing team) Pressures for meeting targets at manager levels and above Inability to attract best talent- so much so that they have started an institute offering a post grad degree with MR course in Maharasthra A lot of disparity in the system - some employees work form home across the year and some slog /inefficiently use their time daily Autocracy of senior prefessionals (esp. aforementioned support teams) And last but not least, its a data measurement company not an insights or consulting company (many units just focus on 'sell, sell, sell" with no consideration for the end result of the research )
