I have been working at Nissan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I moved to Nissan Digital from Bangalore. I was apprehensive at first about two things - one though Nissan is a known automobile brand, I was not sure about the Technology Innovation at the place. One google search and the kind of industry leading Technology research they do convinced me on that front. That Nissan Leaf sells more than Tesla Worldwide, is unheralded, yet true. My second concern was regarding moving...

A couple of things i would like to comment here. One if you are a pub hopping, late nighter , then Trivandrum is not the place for you. It is a laid back city, but pollution free , clean, with all the facilities of a capital. Traffic is smooth compared to Bangalore, Chennai or Gurgaon. Secondly, since the company is still in its first year, the processes are still maturing. So some of the support systems might take...

    Advice to Management

You have shown a lot of guts in bringing this venture to a Tier 2 city. We need more people to succeed doing this, if we are to have a successful all-round development in our country. I have seen a few jealous or disgruntled elements post some unsavory comments out here, but you shouldn't be swayed by that. You have done a fabulous work so far, so continue doing that.

I have been working at Nissan full-time for more than a year

    Pros

**Avoid this place and save your career, life and mental health ** If you need more details, read further Interactions at my organization tend to be “Oh, you are fresher? Is this you have learnt in college Oh, you are 5 yrs exp person ? whats your contribution to company in last 6 months?” They are never positive and productive ; its meant to put you down , feel miserable and leave the place one day ! ...

    Cons

Travel planning is such pain and claims processing takes months. Finance dept thinks that they are doing charity by settling claims. Sometimes, you feel that you are in government office of Kerala than a IT company. Hard paper forms for anything and everything but this company has Digital in its name. Irony at its heights If you are here, you are never trusted to decide "how to do my work on my own". I...

I have been working at Nissan full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

good projects, opportunity to work in different technology domains across geographies. Relaxed work culture. Deadlines are not too stringent. Pay and employment benefits are outstanding. Ideal company to retire from. If you want to work the company allows you to do, else you can while away in the cafeteria.

    Cons

80% of people who are hired are known/connected/classmates of the top-management. sub-par top management who are being paid atleast 100 pc more than the going market rate (w.r.t skills and experience). All decisions made from the HQ in Yokohama. Regional teams have little say. Quirks of the Japanese Culture: Hard to decide if the person means a Yes or No. Language barrier. Hard time following HQ guys in discussions.

    Advice to Management

Get good people on the top. The current lot of GMs VPs and even the CIO are a bunch of headless chicken in a ranch. They don't know what to do. Depute people from one geography to the other. Give onsite opportunities to the freshers. Get training in the english language for the staff in HQ. Similarly run courses for Japanese in other geographies. Standardize HR practices Parity between experience /age...
