I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The work onboard is easy. Passengers are mostly nice, know to expect very little, therefore do not moan and complain.

    Cons

A lot of the cabin crew unfortunately. There is quite a mix of crew. Some from carriers such as BA, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates. Also from charter airlines like Monarch, Thomas Cook etc...the majority of these crew are professional, hardworking, a pleasure to work alongside & focus on delivering excellent customer service, as trained by their previous airlines. However, there are also a large number of ex Easy Jet & Ryan Air crew, most of whom are absolutely dreadful, and embarrassing to work alongside. They have zero customer service skills, everything is too much trouble, they are not even pleasant to work with. It’s quite shocking to me how these people even consider themselves remotely suited to a customer service based role.

    Advice to Management

Simple...stop recruiting from low cost short haul carriers. Or if you must, massively step up the customer service training.

I have been working at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

New company, new planes, easy service, one leg then lay over, things have gotten a lot better in 5 years. Intl. Cheap tickets Intra Europe for employees and family. On shorthaul and Long haul.,

    Cons

Not flexible, your given a schedule, hard to trade, or give trips away, no bidding system, no jumpseat agreements , no airline agreements other carriers, no domestic flights in US. Hard for usa employees to commute. No senioity in bidding schedules or reserve. Everyone shares reserve. Not fair for senior people you don't know where you are on reserve if you will be called they have no system. It's all up to the crew Desk ... And don't call them.. long flight sectors 4 days in a row back and forth to Europe no days off. The pay has capped at 5 years usa crew in contract negotiations.

    Advice to Management

Get a schedule and bidding system for cabin crew, so people who want to work more can and those who want to trade can. Then people won't call in sick as much if they can trade and not have such long trips with no days off in between causing fatigue. Get seniority the pilots have it shorthaul have it. Long haul needs it you have too many people on reserve not knowing where they are on the list. Don't take people off flights they are scheduled on already you need a reserve pool. That's why airlines have reserve and seniority. Happy employees make Happy customers 😁

I have been working at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time

    Pros

Great destinations and the travel benefits.

    Cons

The biggest con is being a third party employee. No 401K benefits, expensive medical insurance and no travel benefits on other airlines. The second biggest con is the pay. The max you will make is 40K a year.

I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The airline is a dream to work with. Great people, awesome pay, easy environment. A great way of reporting a dealing with things such as colleague conflict and passenger complaints. You have the option of joining as a junior, becoming a senior, line trainer, line checker. ground instructor and base chief! If you're nice to Crew Office (hard sometimes), you will get the best roster every, 5 days on, 4 days off! Layovers in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and sometimes parts of Spain. Enjoy them while you can! Great flight discount, you only pay the tax, however, due to it being budget, you'll be taking your chances getting a seat!

    Cons

THE SHORT HAUL AGENCY: Please note if you work for Norwegian Short Haul in LGW, you will legally work for Aeroprofessional. They are terrible to work for. Unorganised, they pick favourites, no communication and are spiteful. Literally everyone in LGW dreads the day they have to contact them (most days tbf). If you're going to work for a brilliant airline like Norwegian, apply for Long Haul, at least then you will work for OSM which is much better in terms of employer.

    Advice to Management

Advice to Norwegian Management; Get rid of Aeropro. They're useless and reduce employee morale. Advice to Aeropro: Stop picking favourites, start working as a team, communicate with your colleagues and employees and BE FAIR.

I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle for more than 3 years

    Pros

International travel, working in 787, some people you meet here are great and some are not. Free breakfast, crew meals. Pay is ok

    Cons

So many, no travel benefits, terrible rostering, no seniority, have to deal with with very difficult cabin seniors and supervisors, great people have gotten let go from there, yet trouble makers, sexual harassers are still there. Terrible HR dept, long trips, high US medical insurance. Horrendous base Chiefs, they’re hiring many many peoples NO airline experience so it makes it that much more difficult to deal with attitudes that these people posses!

Former Contractor - Crew in Gatwick, England
    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle for less than a year

    Pros

    - Good salary - Good quality uniform - At the time if had worked for a previous airline, the training would only be 3 weeks instead of the standard 6+ weeks - Crew meals from M&S provided

    Cons

    - Originally applied for a full time, permanent contract. Went to the interview and was successful, but then got an email saying they'd basically over recruited and I'll be in a 'holding pool'.... 1 whole year later, finally got another email only to be told the contract is no longer perm but 6 months. Long story short by the end of the 6 months, the contract didn't get extended because the agency that recruited on behalf of the airline seemed to encourage the current crew to watch your every move. - Horrible rostering system. Was based in Gatwick and 99% of the time, you'll get called of standby - Delayed almost everyday - Very cliquy. As a newcomer, unless you're into infighting and pointless gossip then you'll be left out - 2 faced culture - Although they say they don't act on hierarchy, it's a bare faced lie.

    Pros

Fast interview process. They are very clear and friendly. Had an amazing experience.

    Cons

Swim test was unnecessary in my point of view as this is the only airline I know so far that requires that.

    Advice to Management

Very friendly people and easy and fast process. Had a good experience.

I have been working at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Onboard environment, new planes, expecting new planes and routes. Great colleagues to work with. Place to gain experience.

    Cons

Some trips could be really long, scheduling bad handle, neither agreement with other airlines nor Norwegian Short Haul.

    Advice to Management

Schedules, airline agreements, have to check my paystub to be sure all is there is not acceptable. I should trust on my company.
