I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

International travel, flight benefits, friendly coworkers, and optional benefit plans

    Cons

Since travel is international you don't get free flights because you still have to pay tax on tickets. Poorly organized scheduling. Long hours and trips. No real paid time off

I have been working at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

International travel and meeting other cabin and flight crew members from all over the world.

    Cons

Too many to list but below are a few Horrible scheduling. Some crew gets maximum hours while others get minimum hours. No pay protection. If they remove a trip from your schedule you lose the hours and pay. They have no consideration for needed rest time on layovers. Eight days off monthly. If you are not on an actual trip the remaining days you are on standby or reserve. Abhorrent executive and management teams at both Norwegian and OSM Aviation. Constant lies. No communication. No transparency. Inconsistencies between departments and even within the same departments. Working as an outsourced employee from OSM Aviation to Norwegian Air. Norwegian constantly taking away from customers and crew trying to save money.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Be transparent and communicate with your workforce. Hire competent crew planning/scheduling management and staff. Invest in crew scheduling/planning/ management technology Take lessons about how to treat employees from the best airlines for employee engagement and satisfaction like Virgin and Southwest.

I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

New planes and nice uniforms. International travel. No flight experience necessary, they are willing to train.

    Cons

Over hired so only a few trips a month and lots of stand-by days. Low salary.

    Advice to Management

Be more selective with who you hire and you'll have lower turnover.

I have been working at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for less than a year

    Pros

International travel, great co-workers, good company values, lots of potential for growth, good rosters right out of training, not a lot of micromanagement. The company is growing rapidly, and with fast growth there will be kinks to work out. If you can stick it out they seem to really want to fix the issues but it definitely won't be overnight.

    Cons

Lack of communication from senior staff, hostility between management and union that bleeds into the attitudes of the crew, a few unprofessional and negative co-workers whose actions effect the dedicated and positive crewmembers, no control over your schedule, expensive insurance with 50/50 split between employee and company, no seniority, ID travel benefits decreased this year, no benefits on travel in the US, hard work isn't recognized by corporate, squeaky wheel gets all the grease at this company

    Advice to Management

Take the time to meet one on one with your crewmembers to check in, set goals, listen to feedback and make changes. We are your eyes and ears and the ones who represent the company to the public, and it often feels like we are just a number. I fly because I love to travel and wanted to share travel with my family and friends. Now that the ID policy has changed the biggest benefit to retain me has disappeared. Reward the people who work hard for your company and you will keep them around long term.

I have been working at Norwegian Air Shuttle full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I've been cabin crew- flight attendant at Norwegian for over two years. Instantly given roster from day one- no reserve lines. Free luggage, uniforms, meals. All international travel. Generous travel benefits within company. Forever expanding. Open door policy with management. Free breakfast at all hotels. Lots of opportunities to move up within flight department. Great salary and per firm.

    Cons

Service training should be module within initial training. As it is currently, service training is learned on the job. This adds to inconsistency from flight to flight.

I worked at Norwegian Air Shuttle for more than 3 years

    Pros

International travel, working in 787, some people you meet here are great and some are not. Free breakfast, crew meals. Pay is ok

    Cons

So many, no travel benefits, terrible rostering, no seniority, have to deal with with very difficult cabin seniors and supervisors, great people have gotten let go from there, yet trouble makers, sexual harassers are still there. Terrible HR dept, long trips, high US medical insurance. Horrendous base Chiefs, they’re hiring many many peoples NO airline experience so it makes it that much more difficult to deal with attitudes that these people posses!
