Some managers are too biased and goes against work ethics
21 Oct 2021 - Specialist in BengaluruRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Company culture and values are good but not followed in India internally. Compensation is good and hikes are average.
Cons
Managers in India especially few managers in analytics and manufacturing IT area are very biased. In analytics area one of the mamager promotes and gives all awards, recognition and even long term on-site to her favorite candidates. Whereas in manufacturing it area is totally unorganized, managers there hires resources saying some job and assigns something else...they will make you work in weekends, late nights, early mornings, denmark holidays, India holidays and all in short notice. And for the overtime compensation...u have to follow up for months... even though they will approve leaves, they may cancel it one day before. A resource once had to cancel his flight tickets he booked personally. These managers will keep on adding tasks out of your jobrole unless you are fully mentally exhausted..and the funniest part is they promote so much about mental health...they will never entertain your aspirations no matter how dedicated you are or how much you work or you get many client appreciations. The best things are reserved for their favorite candidates. This is the inside story and hr will do nothing except only listening during your exit interview. Dont be fooled by the company's profile. The good name is because of the Danish people and their hard work. Here in India, most of the people spend time in cafeteria or buttering their managers. And if you are a serious techie, try to join Novo Nordisk Denmark, not India.

Novo Nordisk Global is Hot - Novo Nordisk India as Good as a C-Grade Bhojpuri Movie
9 Aug 2016 - Senior CRA in BengaluruRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Disclaimer: Most, if not all, positive attributes stem from the Novo Nordisk global culture, and not the India affiliate. - Work-life balance is pretty amazing at Novo Nordisk. One is expected to finish with their work and also have a good personal life. No one expects you to be 'seen' at office when you aren't expected to, so that's a great plus. - The organizational culture is pretty relaxed, especially with the HQ teams who afford you a lot of their time and hear you out. Most importantly, they're extremely friendly and professional and respect you, and set you immediately at ease. You'd just love working with the HQ clinical development teams, especially the project managers, international trial managers, and the CTAs. - In my line of work, I got to work on providing input to protocols during the development stage time to time as a local trial manager, which is a pretty interesting responsibility, as it shapes your project management experience and takes it to a whole new level. - There are opportunities to be availed of to work in a global environment, say migrate to Europe or the Asia-Pacific region, which is pretty cool. - Job security is guaranteed, as the organization has a very strong portfolio and is backed by a very nice vision of leading in the diabetes space for the next decade at the very least.
Cons
Disclaimer: All the cons listed stem due to Novo Nordisk India Pvt. Ltd. - The most terrible thing about working here, on top of all the terrible things, is that your pay is pretty terrible. Novo Nordisk India management is a cheapskate when it comes to paying people what they deserve. It's outrageous more so because they have all the money and funds in the world to sponsor international meetings for doctors and study coordinators. Talk about corporate cruelty. It doesn't get worse than this. - There's a disgusting culture of sycophancy that's endemic here. You can work your butt off all you want and have the scars and results to prove it, but unless you have brownnosed your way through the hierarchy of managers and heads, you ain't getting nowhere. Mediocrity is celebrated, or so it seems. Most managers have gotten there by virtue of what, no one knows. It's a mystery akin to what happened to MH370. - There is zero transparency. You would not be promoted simply because maybe your nose is shaped wrong. Or you weren't wearing heels. It could be anything ridiculous. There's a career competency guide that's to be utilized to select candidates for promotion, but I figure it serves its purpose better as tissue paper. Just no one cares. This is a morally bankrupt management if ever there was one. - Within departments, there's no mutual respect for people and the work they do. You are on your own in a big bad jungle, and you have to defer to authority simply because some people have existed there for centuries. Not a very friendly place to be. Picture an Indian government office in the 1980s in rural Bihar. Now you are close to understanding what it means. - Anyone that has joined from outside Novo Nordisk is not treated the same way as an "insider". There are quite a few people that are proud that they have only worked at Novo Nordisk. And I guess that's about the only place that will ever employ them. The management simply doesn’t trust ‘outsiders’ as much as they do these ‘sons of the soil’. That begs a natural follow-up question – why employ ‘outsiders’ in the first place? Lease your departments to your families. It would be one heckuva Big Fat Indian Corporate Family Love Story.

Great Company and Benefits, Horrible Management and HR
24 Sept 2021 - Manufacturing TechnicianRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Novo Nordisk as a company provides GREAT benefits, PTO, sick time, 401K is amazing! They give a great amount of time off, the work is not hard at all.
Cons
Management-To be a manager, you basically need a 4 year degree. Not every manager needs to be a manager, I would say that for half that I met out there in Purification. It's all about politics with a 4 star company... Managers play favorites all the time! HR at Novo Nordisk DAPI US in purification alone is a joke. RUDE, won't let you speak and when you do get to speak, she talks right over you like you don't matter. Politics, they preach diversity etc., and you do see a lot of different people, race & nationality, HOWEVER-all the things that they tell you that NOVO is as a company in orientation, goes right out the door as soon as you get to working your position. Can't get a regular soda anywhere on site, they will give you diabetes with all the sugar and junk food, you can even get sweet tea, but no regular soda... Short lunch breaks, a ton of down time-so if you like working, it gets super boring.

Extremely eroded culture

Private health insurance, private pension, free breakfast,
Cons
No transparency. Managers stopped listening. Poor managers. Novo Nordisk Way has faded away. Culture of inclusion, respect to different views turned into a labelling of people. Things that cannot be said clearly to people's face have started being said to behind their back when they leave. It is so sad to see how a great culture shifted in a bad way.
