I have been working at OCUS for less than a year

    Pros

High flexibility. You can plan out your schedule however you want.

    Cons

This company consists of a few terrible departments - CS, Finance, & Post-production. CS - They are eager get shoots done and are super responsive until photographers have submitted the photos. Anything happened afterwards, they give zero damn about it. Including any missing payments. They are not only not very helpful, you could even feel that they don't want to help at all. Finance - They are also very unresponsive and they are not transparent with how money was spent whilst paying the photographers - e.g. currency exchange rate/hidden handling fee etc. Post-production - Poor editing skills (imo). They seem very flaky as they would miss validating some shoots hence a bunch of missing payments to the photographer. It looks like a lot of photographers are experiencing the same problem with OCUS around the globe. Payments have been dragged for 2 months or more. Absolutely ridiculous company.

I have been working at OCUS for less than a year

    Pros

none experienced since I was never provided a relevant assignment based on the information I provided.

    Cons

Dishonest advertising, purposely incompetent tech support, use photographers to boost their network reach without regard for the photographers' specialties. Do not allow photographers to edit their own profiles if there is a mistake. Spam photographers with photo shoots that are not their specialty (which if you are a client of this company is something to be aware of as well as they are not sending you specialists). I regret signing up and after 30+ emails they are still spamming me, will not take me off their platform and will not correct the inaccurate information they've posted about my business and specialties - in fact they have made it MORE inaccurate each time I contacted them (I signed up in real estate genre and they've since added food, fashion, lifestyle, nature, product and social to my account all of which I do not shoot and have communicated with them). Terrible experience and company.

I have been working at OCUS for more than 8 years

    Pros

May present a high volume of low paying jobs. If you can shoot a lot of them, you may be able to supplement your income in a helpful way.

    Cons

Ocus has a set of terms and conditions to which you will agree to. I did, then they began sending me an additional agreement for each shoot. The new agreement included a small licensing fee, to be paid me in addition to the photography fee. I signed each agreement as OCUS demanded before I did the shoot, and returned the agreement to them. Now, OCUS refuses to pay the licensing fee, with no explanation, even though I showed them that their agreement spells it out very clearly. I still need to be paid for shoots I did nearly 3 months ago. I finally told them that if they refused to honor their own agreements, then I would go public, and show the world what they sent me to sign, and let everyone read it for themselves. OCUS's answer is to simply say that there are no additional fees, as though the new contracts they sent me do not exist. Yes I have screen shots of their reply.

    Pros

Good for doing small jobs in-between real work

    Cons

Allows clients to cancel within 24 hours and even when there is a postponement in <24 hours, you aren't paid fully, pay is very far below market rates.
