Decent overall but lots of room for improvement
3 May 2023 - Senior Leadership in New Orleans, LARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Front line managers and rank and file are highly committed to the advancing the company There are a lot of good people in all areas of the company trying to do the right thing Culture of innovation
Cons
Lots of dissention in the senior leadership ranks that created toxicity that made its way down into the rest of the department. They would put on a face that everything was happy, but everyone saw through the charade. Even high performers don't get merit increases that are anywhere close to the current rate of inflation. Given that I'm sure most of the senior leadership voted for the current administration that has caused this inflation, they helped create this problem. Constant bombardment of woke talking points. It's very obvious that this company only values people that check certain boxes. The level of thought policing that they attempted was very 1984-ish. COVID vaccine mandate. Given what we know now, this was an incredibly short-sighted approach. Current financial situation is so bad that they can't even open backfills for individuals leaving the organization.

23 May 2023 - Certified Medical Assistant in New Orleans, LARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I loved the doctor I worked for, friends I made
Cons
The environment outside of that dynamic was toxic. I had a few people I could trust, but, no matter what campus you work at, you can’t trust management to have your best interest.

Maybe don’t the best Organization since they are laying employees off!
12 May 2023 - Patient Access Manager in New Orleans, LARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They care about the patients and they use to care about their employees. Decent benefits, and the overall atmosphere and people working at the organization was great.
Cons
They are in financial trouble and laying people off. No longer job security with Ochsner. They do not compensate you fairly but instead continue to add on more responsibilities, departments and team members for the same pay.

28 Apr 2023 - Nurse Practitioner in New Orleans, LARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I am a mew grad NP here in hospital medicine. The learning curve was very steep but the physicians were very supportive and willing to teach. I never hesitate to ask about anything I am unsure about.
Cons
Not an academic center, not much structured learning. I didn’t even have a structure orientation because we were so small. No resident teaching, medical grand rounds.. learning is self directed and on the job. Not much going on in research or quality improvement as well.
