      Pros

flexible hours 50% employee discount, not counting jewelry

      Cons

      - they treat you like trash if you don't kiss up to them - heavy emphasis on making people sign up for credit cards - not a lot of hours. you get lucky when it's a busy time. - despite you being the one who makes costumers apply for their credit cards, the managers are the ones who get compensation. Not you.

      Obsession with Old Navy Card

      Pros

      Flexible hours, pay was ok

      Cons

Management didn't communicate well with one another; if I told one manager I needed a day off I might still get scheduled that day because they didn't tell the right person. There was a terrible system in place for getting extra cashiers when needed: calling for them on walkie-talkies, expecting associates on the sales floor to trip over themselves to volunteer immediately, and then collectively berating them when they don't. After a year or so with the company, demand for getting customers to sign up for an Old Navy credit card became so great it seemed like the only thing management cared about us doing, and it went as far as making employees fill out a report at the end of every shift saying how many Old Navy Card signups they got and what they think they can do better to get more tomorrow. No sense of mobility or advancement within the company.
