I worked at Omega Boutique full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

History, timepieces, training, testing and everything about the brand is great! Getting to know clients and really being able to know and teach them history is a huge plus.

    Cons

Do not even try and tell HR a problem, especially the one in charge she will only insult you and make it look like all was your fault. What you say in confidence will NEVER BE, because they leak all the information and turn everything around to make you look bad. You can NEVER speak your mind, trust upper management (some are cool but others not), one that is always on the phone talking smack about upper management and all other managers who aren't up to his standards or pretty, thinking he's God gift ( NOT), and who gets away with doing nothing while his minions do everything because he is so incompetent. If he didn't have help, nothing would get done, definitely not a leader (look in the mirror buddy, you are not a leader, just a dictator) and God forbid management doesn't like you, do not even ask to advance because it will never happen. Dedication, top sales and loving the brand will not get you anywhere if you are not liked. People who do nothing get away with it and take up space, others that work and make it happen get picked on, abused and completely looked over or worked harder. What a shame, Switzerland corp should really do their own investigation secretly with ex employees and current to learn the truth about who they have running their company in the US. Good luck!

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Omega Boutique full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The unique history, culture, and memory of a legendary timepieces is not only very interesting, but actually very inspiring.

    Cons

While the product and brand are so unique, the management and organization is too centralized into an inefficient, disjointed and confusing tangle, too dependent upon one, single person. The HR department is condescending, arrogant, and mean spirited, even toward tenured employees whom they say they want to retain., yea, sure you do. Compensation is not equally adjusted for experience. Benefits are drastically shrinking. Wholesale markets are allowed to undermine Boutique efforts. Managers have no oversight and employees are at their mercy, so good luck with maintaining any standard of fairness, justice or equality at the boutique level.

I worked at Omega Boutique full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The benefits package was pretty decent. The vacation was the best part of the package. Salary is decent for a jewelry business.

    Cons

-Management (complaint wasn't never taken seriously) -Boutique manager yelling and cussing at sales associates -Training isn't great and you're expected to know the product when there isn't a formal training. They give you a binder with information and then test you by corporate. The test is harder than you would think with the information that's provided. - General Manager's are not held accountable for their actions. - Takes FOREVER to be even considered for a promotion - There isn't much communication from corporate until your numbers aren't great and that normally fires up the GM's to get angry with their associates.
