Toxic culture. Avoid!

Pros

Good idea of a software product for the real estate sector.

Cons

CEO doesn’t trust employees to do their jobs so he obsessively micromanages most functions or projects. Because there’s no solid plan in place, critical decisions are made whenever the CEO’s panic buttons are pushed. Scope is changing overnight but there’s an intense pressure to deliver whatever the CEO considers to be high quality work - within unrealistic time frames and budgets. Employees’ professional expertise comes second to the CEO’s opinions and conflict isn’t managed constructively. This creates a toxic environment governed by uncertainty, where people end up pushing their own agendas, in a panic race to prove themselves to the CEO.

Pros

Startup environment is not for the faint hearted. The opportunity to change how the world works has plenty of obstacles on the way, and the rewards are high! After having worked for more than a year here I realised that.. if you - Thrive when facing real big challenges that no one dared to take on before - Are flexible and open minded enough (in the true startup manner) to challenge the status quo and relentlessly drive value - Adaptive to the changing circumstances and willing to contribute to shaping the processes of a young company at any level - Bring your personality to the table and willing to be integral part of the team which is flat in hierarchy and supportive for enabling change and growth - Driven by innovation and excited about how technology can disrupt the market dynamics in favour of the end consumers - Believe in collaborative way of continuous experimentation through rapid testing of ideas - Defy complacency and always hungry for action and growth through first hand experience - Prefer to be a co-owner of the company with generous share options scheme to a place with bunch of facade perks - Prefer autonomy in delivering outcomes against the clear objective to the set of procedures to be followed Then you will find out that OneDome can be your dream team and turn to be out-mostly rewarding!

Cons

Naturally embedded in the nature of the young rapidly growing company there are a lot of moving parts in how things are done, when compared to an established corporation. This may not be suitable for people who are used to demand rather than suggest; who are after the perks package, rather than company ownership; who prefer to work within the boundaries of rigid org structure rather than be part of the cross-functional autonomous and collaborative teams; prefer to stay within the comfort zone and steadily drag along, rather than be hungry for rapid growth and do things no one did before. For stable, risk-free, predictable environment seekers it can be hard to find the grounds here, just like in any young and ambitious tech player out there.
