Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at OpenBet full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
Nice office location, good benefits package, flexible working time. There are some very talented people working there and most are very friendly.
Cons
There are some extremely poor people in high positions who cultivate a blame culture. Communication between teams and management is poor. No bonuses No real pay rises No real project management - the company has never understood what project managers do. TCL

Pros
You can plan free pool and ping pong !
Cons
Outdated technology. High level of attrition. No Bonus. No Pay rise. As a result developers quit in 2-3 years time typically. To my knowledge this is a kind of hidden strategy by the senior management !

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at OpenBet full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
1) Great business park. 2) Nice day to day perks (free drinks/fruit, games rooms, etc) 3) Friendly colleagues in general. 4) Opportunity to self-manage. 5) Flexible working hours 6) Laid back atmosphere 7) Multi-national workforce
Cons
1) The main reason I decided to leave Openbet was due to the future of QA in London appearing to be numbered. The department is on its last legs as more jobs are moved offshore to people who are perfectly qualified to do the job, but it makes the role of QA in the UK less and less significant as the days go by. The amount of experienced testers who have moved on in recent years, as a result, is overwhelming. HR seem to be able to do little more than shrug their shoulders and take down notes. 2) Self managing yourself is all well and good, but some management really do not have time to support and provide guidance in terms of what they want from you and the direction to go in. I was rarely congratulated for a good bit of work. Left to drift aimlessly trying to do stuff but not knowing if it'd really hold any value in the long run due to lack of feedback/guidance. My last review lasted 20 minutes and I wasn't even given the opportunity to put forward my own thoughts. I don't think it's a personal thing. Just think some managers are busy and have to prioritise people over others, and unfortunately some will suffer. 3) Lack of pay rises across the board. In almost 3 years I had one pay rise. Says it all really. No amount of free fruit will make up for this.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at OpenBet full-time for less than a year
Pros
easy to get a job there good benefits and good location.
Cons
Old technology, and not really open about changes, at first it looks like a great place to work nice office, play area, free drinks but it all come with a price, and it wouldn't take long to realise that most of the people just want to leave. The HR is useless and incompetent especially at the higher level, and as the rest of the management the would blame you for their mistakes. Forget about pay rise and promotions.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at OpenBet full-time for more than a year
Pros
Great people and offices, with a superb culture. Lots of energy and people trying to do the right thing. Product strategy back on track after years of dithering and mistakes.
Cons
Rubbish pay rises. Senior management U-turns on office space and offshoring to name but two. Training budget slashed despite assurances that it had trebled. Novice, and often absent CEO lets his directors boss him around. Recent senior hires full of buzzwords and sparkling powerpoint presentations but short on action.

RecommendsNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at OpenBet full-time for more than a year
Pros
Great team ethic and atmosphere. Working environment very good. Interesting engineering challenges. Career progression opportunities for those who work hard. Pockets of brillliant middle and senior management. The wave of recent restructures appears complete, so hopefully no more redundancies.
Cons
Good senior people leaving: CTO, VP HR announced this week, both big losses. Office move of some staff out of Chiswick Park a crass kneejerk decision. Owners squeezing the cash supply and creaming off profits means low pay rises. Current CEO way out of his depth and bossed by his #2. Despite attempts to sort it the product strategy is still not delivering very little. No new customers in 18 months. What are the sales team doing?

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at OpenBet full-time for more than a year
Pros
- Very talented and sociable people. - Although the commute to Chiswick is not great, the main office is really nice with a big cafeteria, pool table, ping pong table, an arcade... well everything to relax. - At the beginning you have a lot to process and a lot to learn with little to no time to do so. - Tech Leads (at least on the Games side) are very knowledgeable but you can feel they are under a lot of pressure. They seem to be fire fighting all the time and probably should get more praise than they do.
Cons
Inter communication is very poor: you usually find out everything at the last minute The company had a great strategy but I am not sure if it was the lack of investment or the poor organisation but our transfer to a productised solution died very fast The Technical Delivery Managers never have time for their teams (at least mine didnt). As a direct consequence, lots of people leave. Salary: The basic salary is low compare to the market. Negotiate a high salary from the beginning as pay rises are rare and usually very very low. No bonuses to be expected. On the Content side, we do not get any overtime (as we do unbillable work) but there are overtime on all the other areas of the business
