Pros
Great team to work the company is also very friendly
Cons
management is lost. no attention to the bottom layer of the company. lack of customer focus.
Advice to Management
We are losing our culture. The American way of seeking revenue on top of everything is creating huge gaps from our best customers, products and values. Paulo Rosado is a fantastic visionary and to much technic to be CEO. An option could be to hire a professional CEO and become CTO or chairman...

Pros
The team is amazing. At team level the original OutSystems culture is still there. Helping customers to go fast and agile is fantastic. OutSystems solution helps.
Cons
No opportunities to grow vertically. The sourcing is made only from outside and mainly in the US. Top management is focused managing egos from other managers and founders and forgets to communicate down to the troops.
Advice to Management
Return to the foundations, create a more flat organization and support the organization decisions with help of the teams. Look for talent also inside OutSystems, this will increase motivation and reinforce OutSystems good culture. Please spend time to talk with the teams. @Paulo Rosado try to work sometimes jointly with the teams. You will learn a lot of new things and regain the team trust.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at OutSystems full-time
Pros
Depending on your team/context: - Don't have a tight schedule. - Some of the team are allowed one weekday to work remotely. )Others are strictly forbidden. Why? I honestly don't.) - The office is superb. Really open space with a lot of meeting rooms and cool spaces to eat. - You can order your mail and get it deliver there. It's really handy.
Cons
- Business model is a joke. Since Goldman Sachs entered with their investment their growth pressure trumps quality and sustainable growth. I have no doubt that OutSystems will crash. - Wrong competences in the wrong palces. Technical profiles are all over the place making decisions like machines. They don't have any business knowledge, nor strategic knowledge. OS engineers think they rule the world but the only... world they rule is their own imaginary world. - "Ask why" is a joke. They don't even know the 5 whys technique which is aimed to root analyse a problem. They just used it because "it's cool". - They are luring the wrong crowd: junior and imature profiles who like snooker and free beers but don't care about OS business. - A lot of differences between outcontractor and internal folks. Well...guess what OS? You are not doing a favour when inviting external folks to meetings because we are working for the same thing. Right? If we put aside certain people, we have teams with no change of being equally productive because they don't have access to the same information.

You are crazy into thinking that low code equals fast intellectual thinking. Code can be fast but client's problems are complex and time-to-market is no excuse for OutSystems to deliver really low quality products. I dare to say that it's even fraudulent and illegal. That's why so many clients leave after hitting their "first value" mark.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at OutSystems full-time for less than a year
Pros
Nice office with good facilities, good benefits
Cons
Poor micromanagement, lack of proper training, horrible working environment (you cannot even speak). Everyone works extra hours every day, for free. Terrible balance between work and personal life, most of the employees almost live at the office. Even when you go home you are "on call". Control freak management, with no soft skills or training skills. Snitching culture: when you are called to give feedback they... expect you to snitch on your colleagues. Snitching and gossip is the primary source of information. Crazy shifts with no proper rest periods.

Stop thinking you are special, more bright and better than everybody else. Merit is real when it is recognized by others, not when it is self proclaimed.

OutSystems Response
May 21, 2019 – Vice-President, People
Thank you for sharing your frustrations. For the past two years, the company has been growing at a very fast pace with great focus on serving our customers really well. Because of that we have been driving new initiatives and eventually some situations, internally, need to be corrected. ...
