      Registered Nurse

      Pros

Great benefits, generous PTO, great location, free parking for employees, friendly atmosphere, some nurses are very nice and supportive. It is a large medical center, if you don't like your unit, there are opportunities for RNs.

      Cons

Lack of efficient EPIC training, I've met several unsupportive and entitled nursing staff, favoritism, workload, lack of online access to schedule, and your paystubs.

      Exceptional

      Pros

Leadership at all levels is approachable. Staff are just as important as patients. Excellent benefits and generous perks, including a robust tuition program. They support and do what they can to grow their own people. Many awards for excellence in patient care/specialties. Free parking! Generous commute options. If you are looking for a place to call home and really enjoy coming to work every day, this is it. Colleagues are kind, supportive and skilled. Staff at all levels are respected by leadership.

      Cons

Just one, their PTO program combines vacation, sick and holidays. To be more competitive, it would be better to separate these out.

      Great Place to Work!

      Pros

Highly invested employees who care about what they do. Lots of educational opportunities. Strong Mentor program. Offer a MA Apprenticeship program for staff looking to start a career path. Free Parking. Lots of discounts for local things- sports, summer activities, movies etc. Very friendly HR Staff. Hold staff accountable to policies and really live the Organizational values.

      Cons

Some new hires seem to forget where they interviewed and then after hire think complaining about their commute is professional. Wish they would start expanding clinics toward North end. Managers seem to spend a lot of time reminding newer staff to stay professional (more than they needed to 10 years ago!)

      A great place to work

      Pros

Eco-friendly environment with staff who are engaged in providing great care. Location is easy to get to from major roadways and provides free parking to employees. Work is challenging and provides opportunities to advance your skills.

      Cons

Commuting into the area is heavy so allow time or take public transportation to make it easier. The work culture is going through some transitions, but the expected outcome should have positive results for staff. Current on site construction makes it noisy and difficult to maneuver through, but it's not forever.

Overlake is the worst place to work for nurses in the Seattle area

      Pros

Free parking, nice coworkers, convenient location

      Cons

Terrible upper and middle management. This is the worst place in the entire Seattle area for nurses to work. They treat the doctors like gods, and their nurses, MAs, & PSRs like disposable garbage. The pay and time off is terrible. Do yourself a favor, and don’t even apply for a job here.

      Pros

      Decent benefits and free parking

      Cons

Behind in so many ways. Huge budget constraints. No one knows what they are doing and don't seem to care, especially leadership. Huge mistakes are done daily. I would never allow myself or a family member to be treated here. Nothing moves along at a decent pace. Communication and teamwork is non-existent, but they sure like to put on a show to make it look like it. Don't waste your time here, people stay because they can get away with very little work.

      Pros

Great location, beautiful facility, quality driven laboratory, hopsital culture of integrity, respect and accountability, free employee parking, hard working managers and supervisors who lobby tirelessly for their employees and for patient safety

      Cons

Not for profit hospital that is challenged with budget constraints that affect resources and staff morale annually. Toxic employees are difficult to get rid of due to the HR policies that require extensive documentation of such behavior.

Overlake Medical Center is an Amazing Place to Work

17 Jan 2018 - Senior Recruiter in Bellevue, WA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Overlake staff are supportive of one another, management seeks feedback and really listens to what their staff desire in a work place, and the benefits package, including free parking is generous and affordable. We are one of the highest paying medical centers in the region. There is a spirit of fun, creativity, flexibility, and innovation that is hard to find anywhere else.

      Cons

Getting to Overlake from the South end or West side can be time consuming, but Overlake provides ORCA passes to all their staff to ease their commute.
