"Best place to do nothing and keep getting paid"

    Pros

    - You end up doing nothing for months but still get paid :) So its best for people who want to do nothing and still get salary or run their personal businesses. - A few have reaped good benefits by being good to Partners(Ar Li) and also being favoured all in the open by their LM's. - Work life balance is always at extremes at both end with majority of the period being towards having no work and warming the so... called hot desks. - Office location - Bonus is outside CTC

    Cons

    - A company being run such that only Partners make money. - Highly dependent on UK govt projects, though most of them end up making headlines for the wrong reasons. - Middle management at S&I Bangalore is full of incompetent people who have stayed back as they cannot get another job elsewhere or being paid way too much to leave this easy going life. They call themselves managers, however as time passes by, they go... down in terms of skill and competency. You can imagine what you will end up doing if you stayed long. - Currently they do not have a critical mass also to stay in the market, looking at the rate people are leaving. No effort is taken to retain anybody whether he is from Bangalore or elsewhere. - You find managers fighting with customer care people all in the open, trading on the stock market and disturbing a few who work. However they are still the ones that get the most year after year. - It's nothing but a body shopping shop at S&I Bangalore. No vision, no growth only aim is to place you in some project without doing any fitment analysis. You will be a master of nothing and also a jack of nothing. They call this consulting :) - You see regular mails from manager to pool opinions against people who they want to leave to secure their position. - Sad sad sad. It's a trap that will make you so lazy that, the longer you stay the more sure you get that you will not find a job elsewhere - So many more.

    Advice to Management

Don't call yourself an equal opportunity employer when you don't practice it in real. Implement within your organization what you advise to clients first. Devote more of the bonus pool to the implementers than to the old outdated partners.

I have been working at PA Consulting Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Interesting work in the public sector

    Cons

Ethos is changing from ‘family/team’ feel to ‘sell, sell, sell’... lots of people trying to ride the crest of the wave to the top... work life balance deteriorating

    Advice to Management

Listen to your more junior employees or you won’t have anyone to do the work

I have been working at PA Consulting Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people are driven and ambitious, the culture is flatter than most places

    Cons

Pay is not consistent at same rank across different services/sectors, and can be far higher for those coming in at a rank compared with those promoted to that rank

    Advice to Management

There should be more reward for contribution to sales at lower ranks, instead there is a disincentive

    Pros

Great colleagues, sometimes interesting projects, access to managers and partners

I worked at PA Consulting Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Company healthcare, hours not bad. Good laptops. Some great people to work with and learn from.

    Cons

Get sent around without any say as to where, most of the work isn't real consulting but public sector body shopping. Some terrible managers and bad behaviours driven by bonuses.

    Advice to Management

    Develop your people
