Pros
Base pay is below average, but a good bonus and stock compensation structure. Decent benefits relative to the cost. The company is getting bigger, but still small enough to be able to know many people. Public company means stock compensation is possible. Solid software product and customer base. The company has been around for some time, so there is some stability.
Cons
A click-oriented culture with few decision-makers. It takes a very long time to get things done such as agree on customer deal terms, purchase equipment, and make hiring decisions. Employees have little latitude to make decisions. At Facebook and Google you have employees unleashed, and they grow rapidly by "breaking things." At PROS there is an obsession with consensus to the point of analysis paralysis, and the com…

A lot of managers, not enough executioners
8 Apr 2023 - Implementation Consultant in Sofia, Sofia (city)RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Products are interesting Most colleagues are nice and open to help You get to travel and work with some top-tier customers Salaries & benefits are above average Good place to start if you want to get into the tech industry There are two divisions at PROS - B2B and Travel. Products in B2B are more technical, hence the skills you will acquire are transferable. If you have some good coding foundation, database knowledge and scripting, you will be fine. Travel products are the exact opposite. Products are not technical at all, are extremely specific to the industry, and the learning curve is very steep. It takes a long time if you do not have some knowledge of pricing in the airline industry. Knowledge is not transferable to other companies/industries, so make sure you are willing to invest your time.
Cons
Onboarding is not perfect, which is expected for any company in this day and age You may end up having more than one manager Organizational hierarchy is very top-down Promotions and career progress depends on visibility of your work at the US office. Make sure your line manager is representing you. In both divisions, there is little work-life balance as it is with any customer-facing role in any company. As someone had posted in an older review, titles don’t really mean anything in the company. Implementation Consultants are expected to be flexible. You will be asked to take on additional responsibilities that are not related to your position.

Great company, but going downhill fast
8 May 2023 - Implementation Consultant in Houston, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There were a lot of great things before they started taking them away. Now I would really just say that the people are what makes this place great. Everyone you work with will happily help you if you had any questions or needed help. I always asked questions and they would rather help and you get better than just letting you crash and burn. People in the trenches lookout for each other.
Cons
First they have taken away 100% remote work for the most part. Especially if you live in Houston. They are very restrictive of your time off now, when it's advertised as unlimited. (Before it was very relaxed, not anymore). Plus with 2 major layoff waves in the past 9 months, your job does not seem secure whatsoever and leaves everyone on edge. For good reason because they are still laying people off due to "performance" issues. In my opinion, the product itself is outdated and cumbersome for an average end user to use. It does help, but Pros needs update their products usability to stay competitive in this market. In this role, the opportunities are almost unreachable in a sensible timeframe. Add a below market salary to that and it leaves very frustrated workers on the lookout for better, high paying roles outside the company. They have "metrics" now to help you get promotions, but they have no real way to quantify any of it. Promotions are random if they have the budget. You gain a lot of valuable experience and the company just doesn't value that as they should.

Changing Priorities and Diminishing Opportunities
28 Mar 2023 - Data Scientist II in Houston, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Positive Work Environment: The company fosters a healthy atmosphere with friendly colleagues and good work-life balance. Research and development were highly valued in the past.
Cons
Declining Focus on Science: Unfortunately, recent policy changes have led to the downsizing of the science staff, signaling a shift in the company's priorities. Layoffs: The company, which once boasted a stable workforce, has recently begun implementing layoffs in multiple rounds. Limited Cross-Domain Learning: A distinct separation between data engineers and scientists exists, making it difficult to acquire a diverse skillset. Lack of Career Development: The organization falls short in providing a comprehensive platform for employee career growth and development.
