      Pros

Friendly customers, pretty laid back environment and somewhat consistent work schedule. By far one of the better jobs I've had.

      Cons

Under-paid, benefits are terrible and working graveyard shifts means no social life. They don't pay you for training, and you have to pay for a criminal record check up front that gets refunded after your 90 days. Wage increase is once a year only, and you're usually working alone. Also, there's no direct line of communication between you and HR or your manager's boss.

      Pros

The pay was fair, and it was a good start at learning customer service skills. My manage was a good guy, and easy to work for. Never micro-managed.

      Cons

Long shifts with no real breaks. Working alone, sometimes late at night. If it wasn't busy. it could be lonely and boring.

      Pros

You meet some interesting people, you see some pretty interesting cars, you learn how to multi task, and most of all you learn how to have a lot of patience

      Cons

you have to stand there and listen to the customers when they are upset at you and smile even when most of the time the customer is not quite right. You work alone.

      Pros

-Friendly staff. -Spacious environment. -Location is great.

      Cons

-Not much to do during the shift, once all the necessary tasks are completed. -Would be great to offer a bigger variety of cigarettes, and in-store merchandise. -Not have to work alone for safety concerns. -Some of my coworkers have been known to use inappropriate language while customers are present.

      Pros

Fun co-workers, flexible hours, getting to eat the expired candy

      Cons

WORST MANAGEMENT EVER. My old one was great, not a single complaint. The next manager had me quit 7 months after she took over, after having worked there 3 years. Head office and owner could not care less about their employees. They keep adding stuff to the workload with no pay raise or recognition. In fact they DEDUCTED my midnight premium earlier. They don't care about employee safety, had us doing outside duties working alone at midnight. So safe. Everyone who still works there is stressed to high heaven because they only have one person on till at a time (it's easily the busiest gas station in the city due to being by both the suburbs and off the highway) Staff get to hold their bladders most of their shift due to not having the time between customers to run back. You lock the door and do it anyway and you come out to a hoard of angry customers outside the door. Friday evening rush, by yourself cause head office and management think it's "doable" cause "not enough foot traffic" . Ok I guess having g to drop 600 dollars in an hour into the safe isn't enough. The customers are terrible, treat the place like a casino so you get that one person holding up the line which is now to the back of the store because there's only you. Management and head office don't take employee concerns seriously. Worked nights, had this same guy harass me constantly every night but there's nothing I could do because "unfortunately he's a paying customer" Longest hours ever. Two 9 hour shifts during the day and one 10 hour shift over night. THREE STAFF WORKING A DAY. it's ridiculous. The manager doesn't help out when she would actually show up on time/at all. She gave people so much grief for trying to call in sick it got to the point I would just work while dizzy and vomitting cause she wouldn't let me take the night off or become really condescending when I try. Management has no idea how to run the place, the store was falling apart, carwash always broken, things dont get called in for repairs because she won't let anyone do it but her, yet she never would. The inside of the store looks like garbage by noon because the only person cleaning the store is the night staff. Staff literally have breakdowns working because of all the stress coupled with work load, unreasonable customers and a manager who doesn't care.
