Pros

Been in industry for a while. Easy work environment. Good work life balance. If you like meetings, this is probably the best place to work, you can spend hours every week in meetings pretending you are busy, this is a win.

Cons

Regional Managers constantly moaning about CEO but not speaking up. Backstabbing and political moves for people to obtain their positions within the company and that is part of business and the environment at Petroplan. The frequent changing of CEO's/Managing Directors that only last a short while until, a new move is played by someone wanting to take the mantle. The aging owner is still with the business today, happily taking his cheques and no recognition of the hardworking employee. The business will always stay the same and the company will not progress any further, staying still and recycle the same plans again and again but being branded as big changes, dejavu, year after year. Town hall meetings - led by the CEO who doesn't understand what EBITDA is, using analogies that do not make any sense even though it has taken alot of time and effort to put together but ends up being waffle, spending so much time on details that are meaningless. A HR led business which is constantly sending out surveys about surveys. Not playing to strengths / position - A HR manager that is now CEO, for a recruitment agency I think it's ironic that they can't get the right people in place in their own business, so what chance do they have of getting right for clients.

Petroplan Response

We share your disappointment that things did not work out for you at Petroplan. The issues now being tackled by the new CEO reflect the lack of attention which previous senior management paid to the essential elements of good practice in a strong business. These are strategy, cash, performance, profit, the importance of our people, compliance and risk. The pace and manner in which these issues are being dealt with has quickly resulted in extremely high levels of support and trust in our new CEO. In particular an 81% positive response rating from employees in a recent survey, the highest level recorded since the survey began, 3 years ago. Petroplan is moving forwards. There is good growth in key markets in 2018 and more to come with an exciting new global structure to drive client service and growth into 2019 and beyond. We are proud of everything that has been achieved in such a short space of time and are grateful and highly appreciative of everyone who currently works with us and contributes so much.
