I have been working at Pfizer full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Its the biggest pharmaceutical and research based company in the world and working for a company like that really adds to your profile. There is a LOT to learn from the company and my colleagues and superiors, who are a storehouse of knowledge and experience.Working for Pfizer develops you as a person. The company works on its employee`s development through various training modules and programs.

    Cons

Expectation is high, do not join this company if you are not willing to give a 100%

    Advice to Management

please try to consider the opinions of entry level employees, in launching new products for example. I think such employees should get more credit for a successful product launch.

I worked at Pfizer full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Great working environment 2. Well known drug portfolio 3. Prestigious company

    Cons

    1. Below market average salary compensation 2. Dubious promotion methods 3. Bone dry primary care pipeline

    Advice to Management

Pfizer, a great company marred by measly salary compensations that are below market average, a primary care pipeline that’s already available as cheap generics and shady promotion process that favors a candidate in an extremely subjective way. It’s as though Pfizer does NOT want to be the number one drug company in the world.

I have been working at Pfizer full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Field base, not locked at a desk in an office all day!

    Cons

The company is so big it can be hard to get things done. Too many unrealistic metrics.

    Advice to Management

Metrics aren't getting Rxs written, at least for specialists and for meds that are closer to LOE.

I worked at Pfizer for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pfizer benefits is amazing. Take advantage of continuing your education if you are uncertain about it and Pfizer will reimburse you.

    Cons

It is all about who you know and how they like you to move up, they say there is personal growth, but I have only limited personal growth by so many individuals., I experienced extreme micro-managing, which I struggled with on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Adjust to all personalities on your team, do not mirco-manage and do not claim obvious favorites on your team

Former Employee - Pharmaceuticals Sales Representative in New York, NY

I worked at Pfizer for more than a year

    Pros

Great group of co-workers. Great products Training department is top notch

    Cons

They have established an environment where sales individuals learn to survive as opposed to driving results. When sales representatives are finally eliminated from most healthcare systems, Pfizer and there call algorithms will have played a key role.

    Advice to Management

Stick up for your employees when HR attacks before a lay-off. One day someone will tell you to shove the hush money and sue your pants off.

I have been working at Pfizer full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Very large company with a lot of resources available to you. Great benefits. The culture has relaxed a lot in the last 5 years or so due to several large acquisition of more "laid back" companies. A large variety of roles to be "promoted into". Good base salaries. New culture calls for "ownership" and open communication (candor)..which is nice.

    Cons

Bonus structure and other contests (i.e. payouts) have rules that tend to change in the middle of the game. You sometimes feel like you got "screwed" and there's nothing you can do about it. A lot of our blockbuster drugs have got off patent and they are still searching for their "next Lipitor". Because of that "uncertainty", there has been a lot of change/restructuring/job loss in the last several years More to come.

    Advice to Management

Management has gotten much more realistic in the last several years. They are working on the communication gap from the top level on down. Candor is welcome.
