I have been working at Pfizer full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I work in Vaccines and the company is great. You can either stay where you are or make moves to change into different things within the company. Benefits are amazing

    Cons

Cons depends on where and whom you are working with. Your options to grow is endless if you surround yourself with the right people and learn on your own.

I worked at Pfizer full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working with talented colleagues, culture, career progression, structured training, travel.

    Cons

Very competitive colleagues leading to back stabbing. A feeling of always having to watch your back. Less experienced people in more senior roles as they had done x years at a certain level so moved up automatically rather than competency based promotion. Lots of mergers and as a consequence job uncertainty.

I worked at Pfizer for less than a year

    Pros

Great culture, lots of socials and seminars, great collaboration within the company. They are very open to teaching you everything you want to learn and help you become a better asset to them as well as building your skills for the future.

    Cons

Have to take public transit, only some permanent employees get parking on site. There is a lot of upper management, so lay-offs and such are not performance based.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Pfizer for less than a year

    Pros

Exposure to high tech lab instruments and techniques

    Cons

Backstabbing staff, openly rude managers, not apologetic, very insecure and micro-managing. Performance is based on likability not job performance and when something goes wrong there is a lot of finger pointing. Everyone is scared to criticize managers therefore no support from fellow colleagues. It was only after i left that i found out the truth. As a person of colour i didn't feel comfortable.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to be confident enough to be leaders not dictators. More cultural awareness and inclusion. Focus on the job at hand not popularity.

I have been working at Pfizer full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Coworkers are excellent to work with. Management is confident in its decisions, which inspires employee confidence. Workplace culture encourages personal growth and teaching and helping others. Management encourages people to go back to school, and many managers act as mentors with the genuine goal of helping others advance through their careers and lives.

    Cons

As with any big corporation (especially corporate pharma) wading through red tape can sometimes appear to get in the way. However, proper documentation and all of this, "red tape," is a necessity when IP rights and people's health is on the line.

    Advice to Management

Now, in general, companies rely heavily in email and virtual communications, which has theoretically improved communication vastly. However, people tend to rely too heavily on email communication, even to the point that they will email someone whos office is right down the hall. This discourages direct communication, and actually can cause more problems. People tend to get a feeling of protection when they are communication...
