I have been working at Pioneer Natural Resources full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Bonus structure and stock. Great place for average workers. Easy work.

    Cons

Incredibly unqualified people are hired for positions they’re clearly not qualified for because they belong to the “club”, or are connected. Promotions the same. Incentives to go above and beyond are nonexistent. Only way to move up is to wait your turn. Performance doesn’t factor in.

I have been working at Pioneer Natural Resources for less than a year

    Pros

Everyone here is extremely helpful and the managers have your back. The work can be fast paced, but I love the vibe that the whole company gives off.

    Cons

There can be some miscommunication between floors so it is best to talk to people directly instead of through email when given the option.

I have been working at Pioneer Natural Resources full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent benefits, above average compensation, brilliant leadership. The company is one of the best performing oil companies for the last decade, and the future looks food despite the low price environment.

    Cons

Engineers are prioritized over all other jobs, which is only a con for non-engineers and those who happily submit to engineers. Various departments are top heavy, making career growth for younger employees difficult. Tenure appears to be the primary qualification for career advancement. Work-life balance varies by department. Dated technology. Favoritism for those who gain face time with executives. Corporate HR growing pains. Generally older, more conservative environment.

    Pros

Great people, excellent work-life balance, extremely competitive benefits, great environment, free lunch, flexible work week, down to earth people.

    Cons

Corporate politics can influence project decisions over practical common sense. All ideas matter.
