I have been working at Pioneer Natural Resources full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Excellent benefits. Bonus structure and stock. Great place for average workers. Easy work.

      Cons

Incredibly unqualified people are hired for positions they’re clearly not qualified for because they belong to the “club”, or are connected. Promotions the same. Incentives to go above and beyond are nonexistent. Only way to move up is to wait your turn. Performance doesn’t factor in.

      Advice to Management

Speak to average joes. You may find out a lot.

I have been working at Pioneer Natural Resources full-time for more than 5 years

        Pros

Great 401k, Health, Dental and vision plans.

        Cons

I have been here for almost 6 years now. It has become very clear to me that promotions and compensation are directly related to your age in the industry regardless of your performance. The only instances I have seen employees of the younger age groups get promoted is when they are connected to senior management.

        Advice to Management

If we are going to try and be in the ball park with the majors we need to pay like the majors. The atmosphere has been we will be better than any current major but we will continue to pay and promote like a small independent. Also do not forget we are in the oilfield business not corporate America. Company vehicles, trips, events etc. all play major roles in "total compensation" in this industry.
