Great pay, great insurance, great 401k match. No call outs

    Cons

If you’re out in the field doing your job you will never move up. You have to get in that office everyday and butter up the managers.

I have been working at Pioneer Natural Resources full-time

    Pros

    Good benefits and decent pay.

    Cons

Not open to change or process improvement. Terrible management, who often do not know how to lead. Company is built around engineers. They would rather an engineer fill a management position in a non-technical department instead of hiring someone with proper experience. This not only lowers the efficiency and success of the department, but also limits the amount of knowledge lower level employees can learn from their management team. An employee shouldn't have more knowledge and experience than their manager.

I worked at Pioneer Natural Resources full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

It’s a great company to work for with excellent benefits!

    Cons

Many projects are started with unrealistic deadlines that cannot be met and are abandoned before competition. This can lead to frustration for the team that worked hard to try to meet the deadline having put in many extra hours to try to get it completed.
