I have been working at Point72 full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Regarding the job itself: Exposure to hundreds of interesting and unique data sets. Opportunity to work with state of the art hardware and technology. Projects and day-to-day work are challenging, but rewarding. Huge opportunity to learn here. Regarding the work environment: Flat structure - opportunity to work directly with senior industry professionals (including PMs). Management is quite open to new ideas and is generally willing to give people opportunity to work on projects of their choice. Very nice work environment. Majority of employees (including management) are approachable and friendly. Compensation is competitive and bonus is performance based. Lots of perks - excellent insurance, large number of vacation days, lots of team dinners/lunches and firm events. Multi-cultural team - work with people from all around the globe.

    Cons

Long hours and occasional weekend work required Support rotation once every week or so which can be stressful

I worked at Point72 for less than a year

    Pros

Incredible learning experience. Point72 really invests in young talent, (1) through the team specifically dedicated to training and instructing new investment talent and (2) through analysts and PMs taking you under their wing to show you the ropes. Super high-energy, fast-paced atmosphere and tons of brilliant minds running around. Pay is very good.

    Cons

Long hours (if that matters to you) but the work is always interesting.
