    I worked at Primatics Financial

    Pros

Great software platform, services and solutions, when it works. There is definitely a need in the financial services/banking market. Some very intelligent people have contributed to the design, integration, logic and infrastructure. Evolv has the ability to be and do so much more than the engineers are able to keep up with in order to deliver specific market needs.

    Cons

A lot of turnover/attrition so finding the right talent to replace others is a struggle, which impacts the overall ability to deliver. The senior executive team is comprised of long-time employees that have moved up the ranks as others have departed. Unfortunately, they are not seasoned "Leaders", which impacts their ability to lead the company and retain good teams. They seem to leverage each other too often,... when they should capitalize on the experience and knowledge of their staff. They are very controlling and set in their ways. If they would enable and empower their staff to offer best practices from their past experience, they could be much more successful. There seem to be "trust" issues that create an uncomfortable environment where the employees become afraid to offer suggestions or new ideas that may help improve the existing, but very limited, process standards. The company lacks detailed standard processes, procedures, policies and documentation on implementation, SW platform capabilities and features. Too much "human BI" and information hoarding vs engaging, reviewing, documenting and empowering their employees to allow them to grow, contribute and learn more about other aspects of the business. They continue to stay stagnant and unable to grow their client base due to the lack of structure and process.

    Advice to Management

Listen to all of your employees, no matter what level they are in the company, your personal (preconceived) opinions and leverage everyone's experience to create a better environment and culture across ask business lines. I would encourage SS&C to invest in their leaders by offering mandatory management training to improve overall skills, relationships and the future success of the company. Create a more defined... "On-boarding" process with goals and timelines attached so new employees don't feel so lost from Day 1. There should be a standard process for week 1 to Month 1, M2, M3 and beyond that aligns with their expectations and the employee's role. All meetings should have specific agenda items defined prior to the meeting so everyone is prepared and it is a productive use of time for everyone. Be respectful to everyone and considerate in how you speak to others.

I have been working at Primatics Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Great place to learn and grow -Primatics is a small company so you will learn and have involvement of many different aspects of a software company - Awesome people - We were just acquired by a very large software company in the financial technology space giving us opportunities beyond our regular market space - Bonuses

    Cons

    - Sometimes the work is not easy - Because it is a small company, training may not be the best. You have to be proactive about learning

    Advice to Management

My biggest point of advice would be increasing training or simplifying the training.

I worked at Primatics Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very friendly environment. Very good culture. Young blood in the company. Very cooperative people. Flexible timings. Ability to work from home. Have access to senior management in case of any concern / problem. Nature of work requires to think out of the box. Above-market salaries and bonuses.

    Cons

Same type of work at almost every designation. Very common late sittings. A little favouritism within teams (its natural though). A lot of people to answer to.

I worked at Primatics Financial for less than a year

    Pros

Open floor plan and approachable staff. Exposure to a vast network of platforms and software. Friendly co-workers from all departments.

    Cons

Poor management. Wasn't ever given any guidance towards improving knowledge base for daily working environment. Over promised and under delivered. Hired for specific role, when someone left, I was expected to perform the duties of a higher level associate without direction or support tools to complete tasks.

I have been working at Primatics Financial full-time

    Pros

The pay is ok and some coworkers are good to work with. The office is near Tysons and they cover your parking.

    Cons

To 10 reasons to work for Primatics (in my opinion): 1. You’ve never been thrown under a bus and you want to see what it’s like 2. You want more time to practice your CYA skills 3. You think an open office concept is a good idea 4. You read all the Glassdoor reviews and the only one you believe is the 5 star review that appears to be written by the Primatics recruiter 5. You think short hops look better on a... resume 6. Incompetence is something that you appreciate in your manager 7. You believe that everyone who says they’re smart really is 8. You were once happy and it didn’t really suit you 9. You’re currently working at a job that Mike Rowe wouldn’t do 10. You live in Aleppo and you would like to relocate

I have been working at Primatics Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Learning and growth opportunities Nice team to work with Opportunity to work hands on some of the world's best technologies and platforms

    Cons

Personal effort needed to delve into the some of the best technologies being leveraged (sometimes little or no documentation)

    Advice to Management

Keep the distance from the staff at a minimum (although it is not very great indeed, currently) Provide more learning opportunities and incentives to the staff and development team

I worked at Primatics Financial full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There was a lot to learn and a number of bright people that worked there that you could learn from. Pay was decent, work was interesting.

    Cons

Very cliquish, you had to belong to the JMU crew to get any meaningful projects or get promoted. They teams are not a colaborative as the claim and you were either part of the "it" group or not. Expect long hours, work life balance is not a priority here.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage people or hire people who actually know how to mage people and diversify you hiring practice.

I worked at Primatics Financial full-time

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, great staff below Director. Most people just waiting for other shoe to drop ( aka the earn-out) before exiting. Lots of openings as many of the recent hires ( in last 2 yrs) quitting. If you are on a project run by a founder - rules/SOP will not apply to you but you will work 60 hrs/week.

    Cons

Read all the postings on Glass-door - there is a theme. For a company of its size the firm is surprisingly very political and senior management is incompetent. The majority of VP and Directors have only worked at Freddie/Fannie which only adds to the bad habits and haphazard way in which they apply processes. Work/life balance is very poor.

    Advice to Management

To Carlyle: Get rid of founders and 75% of VP and Directors - then re-build.
