    Pros

    Good people and at least attempt to correct the problems.

    Cons

    Don't give you proper training in the slightest. Your pay is based on sales and the amount of systems you know. So working faster is only helpful if there is more work to go to. Highly disorganized with so many hoops to jump through to get simple answers. Make sure your lead tech is capable of his own job in order to help you with your own.

    I have been working at Protection 1 full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good people that do their best to serve the customer and meet company standards. Some of the management at the regional and corporate level are outstanding. Management at the branch level is involved and wants to promote success and a happy work environment.

    Cons

    Branch operations appear to be under staffed. Training for the technical staff is poor. New product typically requires the technicians to figure it out on the job. Hourly employees at the branch level feel overworked.

    Not many leads, hefty quotas and lots of cold calling.

    Pros

    National company, some really good people who have been around for years.

    Cons

    The company followed the pack and hired a bunch of college kids to knock on peoples doors and pressure them into buying alarm systems. The old P1 would never be in this business and long time "adult" sales people can't be happy with this direction.

    Pros

    National Company.Great industry to be part of. Like most companies has good people.

    Cons

    Terrible work environment under CEO . Pay is down across the board. Morale has been low since new owners in 2011. Service will struggle with cutbacks and lack of training on products. Competition is eating them up and they are clueless to stop it. P1 lost customers under new CEO for 2 years , could have been increased with right management.They have simply done everything they can to cut costs. They also have a mandatory sales quota for service workers that should scare customers that need a service call(the guy has to try and sell you something instead of fixing problem)

    Pros

    Most co-workers were good people. Decent benefits.

    Cons

    Other co-workers stabbing others in the back. Upper management choice on some department managers are very poor. No structure, no guidance when needed. Talked down to by manager- one time she was discussing what dress she was going to wear with a fellow employee, and I went to her with a serious issue with an account and was told-"I don't have time for this". Company was great until new owners came in. Cut out bonus with no notice, then lied to about getting a bonus over and over. Was glad to leave when I did
