I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Great engineers to work with. Could work on multiple product line in a short span of time I worked there. Management was appreciative of the performance and that was reflected on the salary increase after appraisal

      Cons

Less development, mostly trouble shooting customer issues. Management was not looking at the quality of work they were getting from Santa Clara division. They were focused on the volume

I worked at Qualcomm full-time for more than 8 years

      Pros

Qualcomm invests in creating new things, so there are lots of opportunities to create. The environment is what I would call "traditional corporate". You don't have free lunches or on-site massage like the dot coms, but you do have private offices with doors that can close!

      Cons

The drawback is that Qualcomm best understands radio, and the modem-side of the house gets all the love. If you're on another technology and thongs are going well then you'll be supported. However, when tightening hits it will be your project on the block because the radio is where it's at.

      Advice to Management

You have great people in many locations and in many technologies. But you have to give them the chance to create. It may be that management can't handle the pressure of quarterly results and that Paul Jacob's idea of taking the Company private might make the most sense.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

      * some of the very finest engineers to work with in Wireless industry * very open and collaborative environment where you can learn and grow in career. * Good health-care coverage even-though recently high deductible has been added (very much comparable with Apple, Google, FB)

      Cons

      * Negative atmosphere due to multiple lawsuits made this company to go from "best company to work for" to "not so good company to work for" (Basically, from year 2015 to 2018 and counting are the worst of worst years in Qualcomm history). * No matter how good the current CEO is trying, his luck is not favoring. CEO is kind of caught up in fights from multiple ends, so company is loosing the focus and valuable/experience...

      Advice to Management

      * CEO needs to do something before its too late or CEO needs to step down. No fault of CEO but luck is not at his side.
