I worked at Quicken Loans full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Nice office space Okay benefits Everyone is fairly well intention

    Cons

If you are considering any role in the company that is not a MORTGAGE BANKER...take into account: The company prides itself in underpaying its employees You will be asked to work long hours...all the time You will be given no direction and blamed for a bad outcome If you outperform your peers it will be considered normal Management will never make a difficult decision There is no career path For anyone working in the back office, the motto by management is very straight forward. I will use you. The only people in the organization that sees it differently are the recruiters posting on linkedin. Literally everyone else is fed up and leaving. All the smart people have left. Ask in any interview what the actual turn over is for the group, and ask for the surrounding groups and you will see it is very high. Do not go to this company unless you have to and even then reconsider why, this is a place where good careers die.

    Advice to Management

I worked for QL for just over a year. During that time Inhad my first child. During his first few months he had problem with seizures. I was told by my director that if I left to go to the hospital it would considered job abandonment. When I would try to go home and spend time with him after getting to the office at 7 or 8am and trying to leave around 730 or 8pm. I would be called a clock puncher, part timer, that I wasn't serious about the job. I was told to resign after taking a day off because my son was sick. I would not recommend anyone to work here. Was forced to work weekends after being told 1 Saturday a month and if I didn't come in after being signed up against my will I would be fired. What recruiting sells you on and what actually happens is two different things.
