    Pros

    The technology at RBCDS is pretty good and the benefits are alright. You do have to pay extra out of pocket though if you want decent coverage. The also reimburse for many industry related courses once you pass. Well known company where you could transfer internally if interested.

    Cons

    The base salary for Assistants, Associates and Associate Advisors is far too low and well below industry standard. It is under $30K in Vancouver (can't speak for other cities but I'm sure it's similar). The Advisors will try to pay minimal override and will also try to make it a fixed amount. Again, this is not industry standard. They should be paying a percentage of gross or net commission and it is typically 1%. Some...

    Advice to Management

    The base salary is far far too low and management knows this but they don't care. If you want to keep good employees, you really need to look at this and bring it up to a competitive level. There is no excuse for this other than greed. Also, if people are bringing issues to your attention, you really should be stepping in and helping to find solutions.
