I worked at RS&H for less than a year

    Pros

This company offered me a great place to work with wonderful people. Everyone I met there was willing to take time to answer my questions, give me advice, and I felt as though the truly wanted to see me succeed as an engineer. They do not micromanage, which is something I loved. They let you go off on your own and work through the problem.project. It was expected that if you need help or guidance, you come to them. This was a great way to be able to work on your own, and really enhance your own abilities. Upper management was great to me, and really took the time to get to know me and provide support. They took the time to take me on a tour of the Kennedy Space Center and learn about their current and previous projects as well as visit a great many of the launch pads (absolutely fascinating seeing that part of history I would have otherwise missed with another company.)The company had a solid, and ambitious 5 and 10 year plan. All in all, you get to work in a very supportive environment, with teams who look to supply the customer with the highest quality product.

    Cons

There were not many projects that I got to work on, which was a bummer. There were so many cool projects being worked on, that it would have been nice to expand my engineering experience beyond my one task. Also, I was told that while RS&H is a fantastic place to work at later on down the road, it is not the best place to come to right out of college. They have a tendency to overlook some of the new employees fresh to the industry, in favor of the more seasoned ones. It is hard to get experience when project managers are under tight deadlines, and go for the engineers who have more experience. Though I was encourage to consider applying full time once I got some more years of experience under my belt.

I worked at RS&H full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

RS&H is a planning & engineering consulting firm with a long venerable history. Management is forward thinking, community oriented & dedicated to providing a strong community of top tier professionals. Executives are accessible & always looking to encourage state of the art service.

    Cons

No real downsides. Corporate has a desire to maintain a flat management structure that sometimes seems unwieldy, but is agile at market response and associate development.

    I have been working at RS&H full-time

    Pros

RS&H really knows how to pick team players. I can honestly say I enjoy coming to work because of all the different personalities that are encountered everyday. Overall, lots of positive people. Glad there has been many new initiatives to make our work culture more appealing to some, and more open to opinions for all. C-suite really practices what they preach.

    Cons

Sometimes with new policy implementations it can see really challenging to get (or sometimes keep) the ball rolling.

    I worked at RS&H

    Pros

One of the biggest strengths is the emphasis on teamwork. I don't think RS&H can stress that more than enough. Also, If you are a self-motivated individual, there is a variety of projects that can be very exciting to work on.

    Cons

Very little upward mobility, subpar benefits, and consistent micro-management from direct supervisor would be the strongest cons. Another item that is worth recognizing is the services for employees with disabilities (hearing impairment) was pitiful. There was much discussion about providing the needed services, but it wasn't until a year after start date, I was provided a solution that was barely adequate.

I have been working at RS&H

    Pros

One of the pros about RS&H is the open communication you with everyone. It's easy to ask questions.

    Cons

At this time, there is nothing that I would say is a negative about RS&H.

I have been working at RS&H full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

RS&H is a good mid-size engineering firm but could do some things better. Pros are the work hard play hard culture and a decent work life balance.

    Cons

Salary and bonuses are somewhat lower than industry standards. Even though it is an employee owned company, only a select few are offered the chance to own company stock. A recent shake-up in upper management with little explanation has created some uncertainty.

I have been working at RS&H full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I couldn't be more proud to work for a company like RS&H. Company leadership just seems to "get" it. Individuals seem motivated and the projects are interesting, but the company culture is really the key. Work is easily shared between offices. And what other civil engineering firms of this medium size can say they work on aerospace projects???

    Cons

Benefits are probably below the industry standard. Generous "personal" leave that cannot be used for vacation, but only 2 weeks of vacation for the first 5 years. Makes up for it with flexible work hours.

I have been working at RS&H

    Pros

A lot of engineering companies do very similar work, but it was the work environment in RS&H that really won me over. People work on exciting, meaningful projects and it is reflected on the mood of the office.

    Cons

    No cons on the company.

I have been working at RS&H full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

RS&H Associates care about each other. I see that exhibited every day. They are also deeply passionate for serving their clients and communities. Minimal internal politics. Great vision for expansion that is methodical and purposeful.

    Cons

Being a mid-sized firm in an industry with mega-firms can be frustrating at times. We do not have 6000-20,000 associates to tout to clients, but we do have the technical ability and commitment to solve any client's challenges.
