Pros
You get your tips daily, the POS system is user friendly and you don’t tip out the cooks.
Cons
You now tip out 6.5% of your sales to “service partners” who “run the food, drinks, sides, etc” but you end up tipping out over half your tip% that you made, service partners are not held accountable if they run the wrong food, and it ultimately affects your tips but their pay is not affected at all. Also you’re paying them your tips because Red Robin is paying them at servers wages. It used to be a great company to work for, but definitely not the Vestal NY location anymore. There is no room for advancement at this location unless you are one of the favorites. Also, the cooks do not wear gloves and many do not wash their hands after smoking a cigarette or scratching their head.

Server Partner shifts are horrible
17 Oct 2021 - Server in Milford, OHRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have worked at red robin for 3 and a half years, I have made very god friends and they are the only reason I have stayed there.
Cons
I adored my job until after the restaurants opened back up after covid. Red Robin started making every server work SP shifts where you are getting paid server wage, but making 1/3 of the money you would make serving. Corporate doesn't care about individual restaurants, All 3 of my managers have quit and now everyone else is about to quit. Hopefully a whole store closing will open their eyes and make them change something

Be cautious of these guys
14 Sept 2021 - Hostess/Prep Cook/to Go Specialist in South Jordan, UTRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Coworkers were great, the job can be really fun, The uniforms were cool, and the atmosphere was enjoyable for the most part.
Cons
I would like to preface this by saying that my situation is likely not the norm and working here had many enjoyable parts to it. The only reason I'm sharing this is that my particular situation is something that should never happen to an employee and should be shared in the hopes that this never happens again. At the red robin, I worked at the management wasn't understanding and they play favorites with their employees. Regardless of your work ethic and the sacrifices you made for the company, if someone else in the company they like more want's the same position you're in, to receive a pay increase, to make a change to another workers hours, or anything along those lines they will do so even if it means putting the other employee in a rough position financially (I couldn't afford to buy my own groceries and they were unwilling to help). Favorites in the company are not based on work ethic either it's based on your personal relationship with management or how well you get along as friends disregarding the business side of it. On top of this when I was first hired at the company they agreed to pay me $8.75 an hour and half a year later when I asked for a raise I discovered that they had only been paying me $8 an hour. They never made any attempts to pay me for my lost wages. The final thing I'd like to mention is how they handle workplace accidents. I worked as a prep cook for a while to get the hours I needed and I was improperly trained on how to use the equipment. their cutting gloves were too big had holes in them and we were told they weren't required to wear. I had a workplace accident because of this and because we were told to take the guard off of our industrial slicer and put our hand in it (so that the vegetables would come out the right shape.) This of course eventually led to a workplace accident and they made no attempts to amend anything or accept that they had a fault in it. I can't say for certain that the following months were because of that time but following that day my already cut hours were cut further (pre-covid) and it seemed to me as though they were doing everything in their power to get me to quit and leave (I'm assuming so that I couldn't sue them)

A good place for quick cash
25 Apr 2021 - Server/Waiter in Bristow, VARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I was fortunate to have great managers and work at a busy, high volume location. If you're in a metropolitan area, you can make great money. I love that I have my regulars as well. You get a 50% discount on food. I like that the uniform is more casual for servers (a black shirt and dark wash or black jeans).
Cons
Red Robin instated the TGX (total guest service) model this past summer and I kinda hate it. Managers can screw you with three or four SP shifts (or to-go shifts), leaving you with only one or two serving shifts. Money isn't as good as it was before. Managers tend to hire everyone and rush training, which results in clueless, lazy coworkers.

Pros
I love my co-workers. I started with Red Robin almost 10yrs ago. I was proud to work for them. They had high values then. Now it has become a cost cutting machine that no longer cares about it’s team members or the quality of the food they sell. It is truly sad
Cons
Mrg’s don’t care about the store or employees. Not maintaining building.

Pros
Great burgers, sandwiches, and entrees. The Royal Red Robin burger and the Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich are grand.
Cons
A little pricey for the average college or high school student (I mean they are gourmet burgers), but good to go for celebrations and outings

Easily the cheapest company to work for
8 Dec 2020 - CLC Server in Pensacola, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The only pro was leaving
Cons
The company only allows managers to have so many people on the floor so we were ALWAYS understaffed. Corporate would short staff is and leave us no wiggle room to have more servers or hosts working. Corporate is always feeding the whole “we’re a happy family” but consistently treating employees with neglect in the form of pay and benefits. They pushed for a very fake and obnoxious friendliness because they’re so out of touch with what customers actually want. They think they want us to be all happy and friendly, but customers genuinely just want a polite and adequate server to give them their meal in a timely manner. But Red Robin makes that impossible because servers are under so much stress in huge sections alone (on Saturdays I would have a 10-12 table section) and the hosts are instructed to fill every table as soon as possible because corporate was a nightmare if we went on a wait. The kitchen is always understaffed and the turnover rate was horrendous. We would have 60 open and 5 new guys scrambling to get food out.

Some of the pros of working at Red Robin are the staff that you work with become family. They help you out when need be.
Cons
Some of the cons were management. My managers were not the best at communication or oversee of the operation

Extra work for less money
20 Mar 2021 - Server/Bartender in Bloomingdale, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Teamwork is great, people support each other, and it is a fun environment.
Cons
Since food delivery services began, red Robin brought on Uber Eats, Door Dash, and grub hub, tasking the bartender to send the order to the kitchen and hand it off to delivery. On busy nights, it's impossible to do that without your tips from the bar / cocktail tables suffering, for the extra work you have to do for deliveries that give you no tip. I found myself working way harder and losing money, and managements answer was "well our revenue has increased by thousands each month". They cared more about bringing in money than what it costed us.
